I stumbled across this site before, and I really liked the proposed house rule on magic resistance:
Magic Resistance: Spells that have an effect on a being can usually be resisted by making a Mana saving roll, the number being determined by taking away the victim's level from the caster's level.
I like that a lot better than 7th edition's "Kremm Resistance" rule, because it adds a chance of overcoming the odds, but now I use a method suggested by Kopf on his blog: The caster must make a Saving Roll "above their target's WIZ score".

i like that Mana resistance role rule as well Warriors would then need a mana stat too.....though i guess Wizards and rogues could keep calling it POW or WIZ or whatever. Its pretty much equivalent naa?

I'm not a fan of magic resistance under the v5 T&T rules set (I mean, once a magic user's expended all that STR on casting a spell, & suffered the temporary loss of Combat Adds to go with it, to then have the spell fail to hit, especially when it's a combat spell like 'TTYF', 'Blasting Power' or 'Icefall', seems a bit harsh - I'm much happier with spell resistance when it's being powered by a WIZ attribute or similar).
