Yes, I think that works out to something like 2 pounds of lead if they all fire simultaneously. The rapid healing was absolutely vital to the character being able to use the gun. Well, more than once, anyway!
He was a total nutter. (I'll leave you to decide for yourself whether I mean the character or the player...)

Danhem, just a quick note: I'm having a great deal of difficulty carving out the time to work on my article. As such, I think it would best serve the 'Zine if I bow out and let someone else have a shot at filling the slot. I'll still be available for proofing/editing as that's a little easier for me than carving out time to 'be creative Now!'.

(Yes, I know this is presumptuous as I haven't turned in my piece yet. "Sept. 15 or else" is my new mantra)
I love Trollszine being free, but seeing as DriveThru has a pay what you want option, any thoughts on creating a virtual tip jar, proceeds going to the Freels fund?

When we started the TrollsZine it was decided that no money would involved and that it would be totally voluntary work, and that the copyrights would always belong to the submitters, and that it was a single use PDF licence from the contributors. While things change I still think these were good founding principles.
And while I understand that Freels is a great contributor, there are many others who might have needs, both medical and material that perhaps should be considered. I'm an artist if there is money involved then I want my cut. Too many people have freely give so much! Best not to go there at all, lets keep it free and voluntary.
If you want to contribute to the Zine, buy some art and donate it (I'd love to see a Danforth cover), if you want to donate to Freels get his paypal and donate.

Thank you, Quoghmyre--I still hadn't fully appreciated the purity of the enterprise. Just throwing out thoughts: my better 98% runs a non-profit and it's amazing how much hand-holding people who want to contribute to something need. I also see things like the HumbleBundle with sliding scales for multiple charities.
Suggestion not regretted, but withdrawn. Pax.

Hi Mosker. Sorry I missed you original question.
I had considered just such an option before, but there are several issues and complication with charging for TrollsZine! Many of the contributors stipulate that no money can be earned from the distribution of their material. While donating the proceeds from a Pay What You Want option might be good and some contributors might be ok with that, DriveThru still takes a cut from any money earned (25-35%). That means that the owners of DriveThru make money from the sale which would not be ok. As Quoghmyre suggested, if you want to donate to Jeff, do so directly then all of it goes to him rather than a portion. The fact that TrollsZine! is distribution through the Flying Buffalo store is another issue. That puts the burden of collecting the money and then donating it on Rick Loomis who likely has other things to do with his time. Finally there are tax issues. Any money earned from TrollsZine! is taxable, but who claims those funds? Flying Buffalo? Another small publisher from the Trollbridge? Each issue TrollsZine! usually gets downloaded about 1000 times or more. While I'm sure much of this has to do with it being free, I'm sure if we charged $1 it would still get similar numbers. I suppose the subsequent donation could be applied to your tax documents, but would it be sufficient?
Running a contribution-based magazine is tricky (if you do it legitimately and legally anyway). I have my hands full dealing with organizing writers, artists, and copy editors followed by editing, layout, and design. Adding financial considerations to this adds even more complexity.

Anyone hear from Dan? I hope all is well with him. He hasn't been on the boards in a while and there hasn't been any updates to the status of TZ8.
