For those of you who don't do "the book of faces" Steve Crompton has announced the plans to get deluxe back in print as a 2 volume edition, one Rulebook and 1 troll world book
Steve posted: dT&T NEW EDITION NEWS! This morning Rick Loomis officially announced some of the details about the upcoming Kickstarter for the "reprint" of dT&T. So since he has told his mailing list, I can now tell the rest of you! dT&T WILL BE SPLIT INTO TWO VOLUMES After getting many comments and input from you all and seeing the Japanese boxed set (which was spilt into 3 volumes) the Fellowship has decided that the next printing will be split into two books; the Rules and Trollworld. The main rulebook will be all the rules including the optional rules up to page 226. The second volume (Trollworld) will include all the world maps and descriptions along with the GM adventure and the Abyss solo. (pages 227 - 367) You will be able to buy them as a 2 book set or just the Rules or Trollworld. Additionally, corrections and some clarifications will be put into the books to clear up a few things that some players have had trouble with. No real changes to the rules are planned to be made. This will NOT be a new edition of the rules, but a new printing in a more user-friendly 2 volume format. All the layout, art, maps and charts will remain as they are in the current rulebook. OK that's the big news of the day! Let us know what you think

Saw this great news in Rick's mail-out last night. I think having the main rules in a separate book from the Trollworld material is a good idea that will result in more people buying dT&T.

I don't need another copy of dTnT. Even with a box and nifty goodies. Even with dTnT separated into 3 books, which seems very nostalgic to me. The LBBs - mmmm!
What? I'm referring to Classic Traveller of course! What did you think I was talking about?
I was talking about not needing ANOTHER copy of dTnT.
I DON'T need another copy of dTnT.
I don't. I really don't.

I took your wallet last night - the one you have is a fake, full of fake cards, etc. I didn't take your debts though - that's what friends are for!
I think it's a nice idea and I will certainly recommend it to any more converts I stumble across but I am happy with my big fat volume, especially as I rely on my fading memory for rules arbitration.

Steve said they're also looking at a print on demand option which could save non US trolls a lot of money on shipping

Wait. There are rules involved? Yes, until you decide to follow the rule that states the story is more important than the rules so, when necessary, throw out the rules. But then how do you follow that rule?

I don't know the economics but I'd be very happy if hardback was on offer. Rules without the trollworld source material is a good product.

What great news that they have sold out their printings.
Would definitely be interested in a rules only copy for back up and quick reference at the table top.

I agree - after all that work it would be a great shame not to need another print run.
Having played a bit of ToG with new RPG-ers recently, it is starkly evident just how good these rules are! I spent a happy 30 minutes locked in a discussion of why 2d6 offers more than 1d20.
Now you might think that is a bit sad but there was good beer involved!

Print on demand would be excellent especially if offered through Amazon, this'd probably reach the most people. Once the MetaArcade app hits public release (this summer so they say), that could lead to a real spike in T&T interest.
