I...I don't know what to say. I don't have anything prepared.
I guess I...well, I'd just like to thank the little people....like me.
Special mention goes to the Introductions thread where I can post again and again with no substance, and get away with it, unlike my other posts covering this lovely board with their stench.
I recall that, when I stumbled upon this bastion of Trolls, I wondered how it would be at all possible for me or anyone else to talk at any length about such a simple, easy and straightforward game like T&T. .....Since we did it anyway, I guess we've proven my initial thoughts to be correct. It's still been fun regardless.
If it weren't for the confused and innocent newbies and they're newbie questions (bless their hearts); the massive and meandering threads once spawned by the mighty fenris; the general head-spinning T&T knowledge from Khaydhaik (whom we miss); the oh-so-bad and still side-splitting (in a guilty way) humour (...did I just use the British spelling?...) of the likes of you mahrundl and hogscape and...well..the lot of you as well as mahrundl's wisdom (don't let him fool you, he's bright even if he hasn't banned me); the cool ideas and thoughts of Mhegrrrim, whose name I likely misspelled yet again; to hogscape - who wrote a version of T&T I fell in love with the way you fall in love with that naughty naughty girl and that I ranted and raved about on a thread as long as my...arm all the while thinking I was in the shadow of a giant not knowing that it was jus' a regular dude from Oz and who then wrote another version that I again went after like a Buck in spring; the cool and balanced air from the thoughts of feldrick (the check's in the mail); the general level-headedness with still a misty, beer-commercial zeal of ragnorakk; the posts, rules and ideas from our resident knowledge-hound, Toad-Killer-Dog, whose said posts, rules and ideas would make the author of F.A.T.A.L. weep with joy and whose screen name I probably misswrote as TDK too many times; the mad skillz and insights of ProfGremlin who once wouldn't let me get away with referencing "Word Up"; Order99, who gets props for being the only one of us to be brave enough to play 4th ed. in a madhouse of 5th ed. nuts and also special mention for his humorous visual narratives (some references in which I'm still trying to noodle out); skathos...whose stood beside me on the hot-button "spiral-bound thing" and also is one of the very first people I ever saw/read in a post on any rpg forum when I discovered the old-school rpg forums years ago showing me that there were other silly folk like me who still liked dem ol' "broken" games; unclecranky, for being such an absolute teddy bear; quogmyre, who I thought was one of the ol' 'Bridge guard gone on to greener pastures and broke through the stone floor to post again and challenge my perceptions and get them into better focus and allowed me to see that his avatar wasn't some thing's face from some old painting I thought I saw in a Time-Life Enchanted World book after all....and our fearless leader, Vin, who, against all odds, didn't shut the place down after I joined, shaking his head with disapproval.
If there's anyone I've forgotten, it's probably because I have to pee and need a smoke.
If I've caused just one person, just one time to chuckle or shake their fist in frustration, then I've done the best I've ever done in anything.
But most of all, I couldn't have done it alone.... wait...that's why I did do it in fact. Because I'm alone. So alone. So...so cold. So very cold. Well, at least I couldn't have done it without so much free time. Truely the sign of a once-stud past his prime. See....it all started when... What? Oh, yes. Sorry.
I went from someone who cared little and mocked T&T, to someone who was confused and intrigued that it was still around and that a new version was about to be released, to someone who was inexplicably excited, to then give the humble, little game another look and another chance, to a guy that was quite honestly laughing out loud in wonder and joy and excitement as I read the rulebook cover-to-cover for the first time ever, to seeing it for more brilliant than far too few gave it due credit for (whom I understand, as I was once there), to this fun exercise in alternative fantasy fun from the sunflower yellow drapes and carpet of the seventies (please turn up the Uriah Heep, I can still hear the Rolemaster players in the next room) to being my go-to game. What a long, strange trip it's been, thanks to Ken.
So, umm...how many posts is that now? *passes out*
;D

Over a thousand posts, I would never have thought it when I used to lurk on this board reading the discussions. I can't even remember the first thread I posted in, little did I know what I was starting when I worked up the nerve for that first post. I have to say thank you to everyone who has encouraged, enlightened, entertained and occasionally infuriated ( in a good way ) me. I was about ten years old the first time I picked up T&T ( the boxed Corgi edition ), I had been around RPG's thanks to an elder brother for about six years at that point and had been playing for about four years. T&T was magical, here was a game that made sense, armor worked like it should, Wizards were fun to play, it had all these cool weapons I loved, it practically exuded fun and someone had taken all the fiddly bits out yippee! Unfortunately my enthusiasm was not shared and it was many years before I was able to share my love of this extraordinary little game. However I soon found out that T&T had Solos, Joy! T&T not only was amenable to having it's mechanics fooled around with it salaciously encouraged it ( the brazen hussy! ) and fool around I did. T&T taught me and I think from reading here I'm not the only one the basics of game design and how to make a game fun for everyone GM included. Before T&T all the RPG's I was involved in were grim games of counting coup between a DM & the players and fun was scarce on the ground. A big thanks to Vin for giving us all a place to come together and talk RPG shop about our favorite game, even when it's creator thought it wouldn't make it. Most importantly thank you all for the warmth and fellow spirit that permeates this board, it really is something special. Heres to a few thousand more posts! ;D

I think I'm gonna cry...(...big trolls don't cry...big trolls don't cry...) Ugh! Hail millennial posters! And the weird thing is that, in addition to prolixity, you both have repeatedly blown my teeny-little mind with your takes, observations and such. Thanks for the conversations!

An Exalt for each of you, by the way, for your long and glorious service here! TKD first, because I can't Exalt twice without a rest between them ( sounds a bit dodgy ), and he got to 1000 first. 9th levellers, the pair of you! (With Hogscape at 8th level not that far behind...)

( ...big trolls don't cry...big trolls don't cry...) Did...did you just reference 10cc's "I'm Not In Love"? And the weird thing is that, in addition to prolixity, you both have repeatedly blown my teeny-little mind with your takes, observations and such. Thanks for the conversations! (emphasis mine) But what's funny...is that I had to look that word up. ;D

Thanks for all the congrats and so forth, guys. Seriously. But I'm being honest when I say I still think of myself as the "small fry" in our discussions and so on. So, again, thanks to all of you for the thoughts, ideas, suggestions, help, jokes and all that good stuff. And I'll also offer my congratulations and thanks to T-K-D! You really put a shot in the arm of this place when you joined up, bro. And here's to another one thousand, indeed! ;D

I have to say thanks to Machfront for keeping me honest and on the T&T path when sometimes ( "Cough" often ) I stray into the crunchy and rules heavy brambles by the side of the road. What can I say I'm a sucker for the shiny lures of the dark side and am easily led astray.

I stray into the crunchy and rules heavy brambles by the side of the road. Uh, TKD? Those weren't brambles, those were camoflaged fairey battalions wielding thorn-tipped spears. Those who have been elf-shot are easily lured to the dark side of the fey....

I can't even remember the first thread I posted in, little did I know what I was starting when I worked up the nerve for that first post. I completely understand. I'm still in a bit of awe of those of you who have posted so prolifically, voluminously and eloquently. I'm honored and grateful to have been included in your discussions of such a wonderful game. Y'know, in some ways T&T kinda reminds me of those old Rubik's Snakes: one toy that can be formed and reformed into a multitudinous number of shapes. Ok, I don't know where I'm going with this so I'm just gonna congratulate you as well, TKD, since I neglected to earlier. Exalts for you both for such dedicated service to the community.

I's sayed eloquent thingz? Whin?
Ahhh... the Rubik's Snake. Always wanted one o' those. All I had was the pyramid and a keychain Cube.
Finally got a full-sized cube Christmas '05 from my last girlfriend. She got me that and the Atari Flashback 2.0. It was a geek 80's kid's dream.
