"We've found the kitchen then" Alwyn remarks.

Drugan's jaw works with the violence of his emotion.
"Come on there is nothing we can do here, lets keep going till we find what did this"

Melanthios looks at what's left of his fellow prisoners: "Those fishmen will pay for this."
Melanthios then picks up one of the butcher's knives, tries its edge and then tries balancing it to see if it can be used as a thrown weapon. If it's OK he keeps it, otherwise he leaves it.
Melanthios: "I think we should check what's behind the eastern door first. Maybe whoever's resposible for this is hiding there."

Drugan nods grimly and raises his staff/cudgel.
"Ready when you are"

The east door leads to a walk-in cupboard, 10' by 10'. The shelves hold glass and metal jars filled with various choice pieces of human delicacies.
The west door is unlocked and leads into a corridor. It goes west for 30' before it turns south. Quinlan, who is still in the lead, stops dead at the corner. Some familiar croaking sounds just echoed up the corridor.
OOC: The knives, five in all, are equal to bodkin's.

Drugan jams a knife into his belt as he passes towards the west door.
An eerie light blazes from beneath his lowered brows.
"Come brothers, there is vengeance to be done"
"No quarter, no survivors"

"Easy gentlemen, lets not leave any spoils behind."
Charles liberates the gilded plates after making sure they are free of any human debris. He then grabs one of the knives for himself and takes off after the others, spear and shield ready for action.

Poncho: "After a disgusting kitchen like that we're like to find there's some fat Gill-man king close by." "I've no wish to drain our wizards unnecessarily, but should we consider veiling ourselves with magic before proceeding further?"

Quinlan: "Wise words Poncho. Let us mask our passage until we are upon those ungodly fiends then we can skin them alive!"

OOC: While we are in the abattoir / kitchen does Drugan see anything like a large oil vessel, for cooking or lighting. Also a few breakable containers and some cloth or rags.
P.S. If we are going to go invisible someone else will need to do it, it would practically knock me out. Perhaps we should wait until we get closer to maximize our concealment time?
Edit: How about we gather some firebomb makings, go invisible start a nice fish fry and then mop up?
That would make up for losing two "The Penetrating Laceration of Koth" spells, I could cast "The Veil of Shuga" then, but I would be out of combat afterwards.

Verklud agrees with Drugan's sage analysis. "The rite is an exhausting one - it is beyond my capacity - and I've but one Lance to throw. I must adopt an archer's attitude, and save my best shot for the most dire circumstance. I have acquired some oil from Charles, but let's who can search this loathsome room for more."

Quinlan: "Excellent plan Drugan. The sound of fishmen frying in their own fat would be most satisfying..."

How will you proceed?
Fighting while invisible might be difficult, since you won't see each other. If you drop the veil just before attacking, you will receive double HPT for the first round. Also if you manage to surprise your foes, they might not get to defend themselves.
Also, you will need a light source to move about and do combat.

OOC: Any chance we can cobble together a couple of firebombs from the contents of the gill-mans hellish kitchen?

Three of the jars with snacks in the cupboard were preserved in strong alcohol and could be used like oil.
