I will add my list as soon as I get in front of the home PC... I think there is already a thread along these lines that might be worth a read. Sadly my search attribute is too low for a L1SR without DARO but with some diligence you might find it. ;D

Here be my skill list. The '*' means that when you choose the skill you have to choose a sub-category to go with it. The whole article is here: sites.google.com/site/hogtunnels/house-rules/skillsActing Arcanary Bamboozling Climbing Craft * Enchantment Hedgery Hoodwinking Knowledge * Language * Leadership Literacy * Performance * Profession * Riding Seduction Skulduggery Sneaking Snooping Streetwise Survival Swimming Tracking Trading

Ah, yes. TKD's mind-numbing career/skill list. Just how I remember it. Long. So...so very long. Myself? No list at all. Once I've got a mechanic for skills I need no list. No list is long enough or short and general enough to suffice. Plus, no matter how 'perfect' it is, there's always going to be a player that wants something not on the list or a variation of something. Solution? No list. Oh, I tried. I tried for a very long time. I made list after list after list. I tried combining all of 'em from everything I own. I tried culling that down. Then the questions started... what makes this different than that? Is this the same as that? Can this be covered by this-n-that? What does that cover? Then. Epiphany. Short and general list! Yes. That's the ticket. I combed over a couple of things with such lists. The skill list Gygax made for C&C. The list in Iron Gauntlets. The list in Legends of the Ancient World. Savage World's very yeoman and generic list. *sigh* The same questions began to surface. I finally realised the only way to satisfy myself and the players was: "Pick whatever skills ya want. Whatever you can imagine. As long as no one goes crazy-overboard, I'll likely approve jus' about anything." I've never been happier. And that my friends, is why the pig has a curly tail.

I thought I read every post on the bridge before I registered. How did I miss TKD's skill list. *scroll scroll scroll scroll scroll scroll* That's too much for me. I'm still playing skillless and talentless in 5e (haven't seen a house rule for it I liked).

As long as no one goes crazy-overboard, I'll likely approve jus' about anything." I've never been happier. And that my friends, is why the pig has a curly tail. I got swine flu off my pig. I haven't used 'my' skill list (above) for about 3 years. Like Machfront here, I always say 'make up what you fancy'. To which they always reply: 'er, have you got a list I could look at...' So I show them the one from M6E. For my next game (which is going to be a straight-up 5e, with no housing), if the player says 'look my character was raised in the alps so I should get a bonus to my climb save' she gets a bonus.

I've never seen a rules-heavy game with such a list as Toads...

In my defense I never had that list until I put it together for the Trollbridge as an example of the kind of professions I would allow / as examples of possible professions.

Please list all the different skills you employ in a campaign if you have the time... Here's another list of skills for your perusal. They come along with a mechanic for adding a skill system to 5th Ed. for those who care to. Interestingly, it's remarkably similar to the skill system in the M6E. www.angelfire.com/rpg2/ancientworlds/tntskills.html

I just spent the past 15 minutes printing those lists. The thread that has TKD's lists was 13 pages long in printable format!

The talents (I don't have edition 5.5, and thus, no access to the skill system) my players and I use are varied and many, and include: Marksmanship Sneaking Persuasion Perception Cooking Baking Hunting Thievery Disguise Moving quietly Hiding Lockpicking Spying Acrobatics Aerobatics Climbing Cleaning Alchemy Medicine
And there are a lot more, but I won't go on. I threw talent selection (with the exceptions of roguery and missile mastery) open at the beginning of the 7.5 campaign, and let my players choose
