Hi folks,
Does anyone have any thoughts on this "that company" production?
Whilst working on another project for "that guy" I got to see some of the weapon tables and it looks mighty interesting. As a big fan of big-bang gaming I'd like to get a copy.
Who has a copy and what do you think?
Cheers

I have a copy...
I'm mildly disappointed. It presents mutations as a second magic system; no new rules, mind you, just a different spell list and it's powered off of Mutation (MT) rather than WZ. Rogues get mutations, wizards get spells, fighters get adds and double armor... no mentions of Citizens, Paragons, or specialists.
The weapons list was shorter than I had hoped for (2p), but does include some guns, and the armor list is short (1p), but it's an addendum to 7.x, not a replacement. A few pages of cybernetics (3p). It's not wasteland reborn... it's set in the distant future of trollworld.
The adventures look quite runnable. On first read, neither adventure had anything obvious missing. I can't run it right now, so...
If you have MSPE, you'll probably want its weapon list, as well
Bottom line: good stuff, but not as much as I had hoped of each.

Thanks Aramis. It sounds like something I would use to pick ideas from rather than run straight 'out of the box'. I wasn't expecting there to be adventures included though - that sounds promising...

It's not wasteland reborn... it's set in the distant future of trollworld. Awww. It sounded really good if it was a post-Cataclysmic style setting. Guess not, glad I didn't buy it.

It is post-holocaust... nukes, etc, have gone off... it's just not on earth.

I'm still not sure how I feel about these rules. The article on New Khazan in Dungeoneer Digest had more meat and potatoes than Gamma- Troll World. I know that sounds hyper critical, and it is is, but it is also based on what I wanted out of a supplement too. I expected bigger weapon and armor tables. A section on robots, and some more post holocaust critters would have been a nice addition as well. That being said and done, what is there about magic and mutations is pretty good. A small settlement description running 2-4 pages would have been an excellent addition. Starting cash or equipment guidelines would have been a nice touch. Personally I favor a setting where the characters have basic weapons like assault rifles, pistols, smg's, and limited ammo. Any survivor would pick this gear up over time, if they wanted to live! Lasers, blasters, missle laaunchers et al would have to be found, and earned.

If you wanted to run Shadowrun with T&T this would also be a good place to start.
It is more Thundarr the Barbarian than Mad Max. Post-Apocalyptic Trollworld sums it up nicely. I have the first printing, "that guy" says he has added more to it since the, but I don't know what 'cause I'm too cheap to upgrade.

As a child of the eighties I have many fond memories of "Thundarr", I may have to pick up Gamma TrollWorld just so I can write up a "Thundarr" source book! ;D

Yeah Thundarr was awesome with his fabulous sun sword. That kind of post-apocalyptic world would be fun to roleplay.

There is a free Thudarr conversion online using a basic d6 system. By all accounts, it's very good and probably very easy to convert to T&T.
