When I had my beautiful MacBook I could run this game through DOSbox with ease. Now that I have a stoneage Windows laptop (2009 Vista), my Mac brain can't work out PC DOSbox - it seems ridiculously complicated. Does anyone have a step-by-step for the slow of thinking? PS: don't ask what happened to my Mac, it will only make me angry...

Thanks Prof, I'll give it a go. It does look a little easier than the instructions on the DOSbox site. I shall give it a go tonight - those orcs on Phoron need another slap to keep them in check!

Thanks Prof, I'll give it a go. Well, in a worse case scenario you could always pickup an old Dos/Win 3.11 system of eBay or the like. I'd send you my extra one but I think the shipping would be prohibitive.

Hogscape, should I check and see if your wintel hardware is capable of running OSX?

I can honestly say, I've never played that game before. I was mostly a Wizardry/Bard's Tale/D&D on the ole DOS x86's. What have I been missing?

Ah, warm glow. Many thanks Prof! You're quite welcome, Hogscape. I thought I'd take a look around and see if the game was still available, I have two DOS 6.22 Win 3.11 WFWG boxes after all, so I checked the FBI site and couldn't find it there at all. Not even as an include in one of the boxed sets. Next, I looked on the OP site and it's not there either. Ok, I thought, what about Firey Dragon? Nope, not there either. Ok, so, maybe it's no longer available. I switched tactics and Goggle'd the name. Lots of hits there. Amazon seemed to be a good idea so I looked. ::bug-eyed:: Lowest price was $45.00. For an old DOS game?? Ok, I knuckled under and checked eBay. I don't like to use eBay but I thought I'd look anyways. Ok... I found a copy there for $27.99 - on 5.25" floppies!!! Ok, I have a couple of the oldest running systems I know of amongst the geek friends I have and even I don't have access to a 5.25" floppy drive... Ok, so that's for collectors only... I looked a little further and tripped over this page. Hmmm... thinks I, Could this be a case of AbandonWare? It's not to be found on any of the official distribution sites... So, I'll pose the question to you folks here who are far more knowledgeable than I when it comes to T&T history. Has this game been abandoned?

Prof, the game was/is available on a CD-ROM included with the 30th Anniversary 7th ed. tin. Grab one of those and you'll have it.

Grab one of those and you'll have it. Ah, good to know, thanks, Machfront. That CD's contents is a bit on the nebulous side so I had no idea. I'll definitely keep that in mind if/when I consider the 7.5E.

Ah, good to know, thanks, Machfront. That CD's contents is a bit on the nebulous side so I had no idea. I'll definitely keep that in mind if/when I consider the 7.5E. Prof, I think that it's only 7th edition that has the CD. 7.5 does not (or, at least, my copy of 7.5 doesn't have one). I must admit that I have the 7th edition CD, as well as my original box of the game with both 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" disks. Sorry, but I'm not intending to sell either of them... However, have you tried Flying Buffalo? T&T Computer Game (PC only) On 3" disk 14.95 T&T Computer Game (PC Only) On CD $9.95 The entry is just before the Lost Worlds section, about 80% of the way down this page: www.flyingbuffalo.com/prices.htmHaving a price listed usually indicates that the product is in stock. Unless Rick is just behind on updating the page...

I can honestly say, I've never played that game before. I was mostly a Wizardry/Bard's Tale/D&D on the ole DOS x86's. What have I been missing? Welcome, fellow Wizardry player! I started playing that, and the Bard's Tale games and Ultima 3 and 4, on the Apple 2 back in the 80s, and moved on to playing them on Commodore 64 and PC later. What have you been missing? The quest to awaken the Wizard Khazan, to prevent Lerotra'hh's hordes from over-running Rhalph! You start in the city of Gull, on the island of Phoron, and can visit places such as Castle Overkill and the city of Khazan. There is ocean voyaging, travel through plains, forests and mountains, and lots of opportunities to kill things and take their stuff! It's a lot of fun. By the way, did anyone here ever finish the game? I got right close to the end, but I'm not sure if there was a bug in my copy or not, because I couldn't get past a certain point. After trying for a long time, I checked the spoilers on the Flying Buffalo website, and according to that, I was doing the right thing.
