Drugan will grab the fallen Melanthios's tower shield and hand it to Poncho so all the warriors have shields.
"Lets try to herd it into a corner with the shields and then we can toss a cloak or a couple of cloaks over it and then pin it to the floor with shield"
"We who don't have shields can stand ready with cloaks or try to help herd it with our tridents"
"If we can get it down and covered we can tie the cloaks with some rope, that should render it harmless enough for us to try and figure out how to control it"

The Jambiya is too fast and both Charles and Poncho receive cuts (3 damage each). Varklud finally grabs it, but he is not strong enough to control it. The knife slips from his grip (1 damage) and returns to rest in the sarcophagus.
OOC: Remember to record the EP's from the SR's as per the rules. In dangerous circumstances you receive at least your roll in EP (even when the multiplier is zero).

"Hmm, well thats a bugger isn't it"
"So do we try to recover it or do we just slam a lid down on it and call it even?"
OOC: Some one with sufficient strength might be able to hold it while we wrap it up, or we could throw a couple of cloaks over the sarcophagus and wrestle it down when it rises from the coffin.
That way it won't be able to cut us, of course that still leaves the problem of transporting it. We could wrap it up in ropes and tie it to something heavy, that should slow it down.
Perhaps the Wizard will be able to deuce out how to control it.

"Belarkin blade!" with frustration, "I'll break it in two!" *ook* "I'm bleedin'!"
Verklud looks fit to faint for a moment, then recovers, puts the gill-king's crown on his head. "I'd like to test that this crown is proof against that dagger's charm - or perhaps be drawn with certain accuracy to my vital heart - perhaps nothing of note. I will donate my cloak to cover the sarcophagus while the lid is put in place."

Alwyn will lend Verklud his shield for the experiment, if he wants it.

Quinlan rests against the wall with a smirk and prepares to watch the show. Boy these Heggs aren't very smart but they are funny!

Poncho: "I'll join you in another go at it Verklud... if I can borrow Mel's shield. Perhaps if you try the crown and I try a necklace, or we both wear necklaces...."
"If it's back at rest we can throw a cloak over it first so it doesn't see us coming. I'm tempted to grab at the bugger again unless you 'fraid?"

Drugan furrows his brow and then speaks.
"Hey lads, do you think we could pin it down in the sarcophagus with a trident or three?"
"If enough of us struck at once we might pin it from a safe distance"

Quinlan: "Perhaps a piece of cloth stretched over the forks of the trident might make a good catching device?"

"I'm afraid if we stretch the fabric the enchanted dagger will be able to cut through it"
"If we lay or throw a cloak over it, it won't have any resistance to cut against and will simply be enveloped by it"
"Then we grab the swathed dagger after we use a shield to pin it in the casket or against the wall or floor"
Drugan shrugs his shoulders sheepishly.
"At least thats the plan"

Poncho: "Right, good plan Drugan, that's how my pappy used to catch snakes back in the old lands... although I never really knew him." sigh
"So, someone chuck a cloak over it, and Varklud and I with our nimble fingers shall wrestle it into submission."
Poncho slips on a necklace, snaps fingers three times and whispers a prayer to pappy.

"That's one slippery blade," Charles remarks as he inspects the new scar on the surface of his shield. "I wonder if it can even be wielded in battle?"
Charles listens to and watches the others as they put their complex plan into practice. As they do so he inspects their newly obtained gold coronet and gold jewelry to see if they are unusual in any way.
OOC: I'll assume Charles took no hits due to the tower shield. What was in the jewelry on the corpse. Just assorted rings, bracelets, and necklaces?

Varklud throws his cloak over the blade and Poncho grabs it just when it begins to move.
OOC: Poncho make a L1SR on ST.
Danhem, yes the jewelry was an assortment of rings, necklaces and bracelets. All fashioned in the curious style of the gill-men.

Struck with a sudden inspiration Drugan quickly examines the contents of the sarcophagus, hoping to find a scabbard that the dagger may be sheathed in.
