[Since you have only spent one night at the Inn, Drugan has only had time to teach a total of six spells. T-K-D may choose who and what he has been instructing.
The forest is only a few hours walk from the Inn (check the players map, hex 1213) and if you need to, you should be able to cross it in under a day.]
You set off eastward along the road towards the Forest of Woe. The weather is mostly clear and sunny and in no time at all you reach the edge of the forest.
The narrow cobblestone road leads in among the shadows of the high Mallorn trees. The entry is marked by two waist-high stone pillars stood on either side of the road. The pillars are made of yellowish stone and seem to be as old and worn as the road itself. Strange glyphs are carved into them and the magic-users in the party feel a faint magic emanating from them.

Verklud goes to them and examines the stones closely.

Mahara-la slowly creeps along the dense woodland landscape. In the early morning, her figure silhouettes against the dewy fog and jutted branches. This tall and slender woman brushes aside the foliage like the blond and red streaked hair cascading down her shoulders.
“Halt, travelers. Stay your mighty silvered swords or tongues. Know this- I have just saved your lives.”
The woman walks calmly along a small road, casting unsubtle glances behind her. She walks within close proximity to the foremost member of the party. She looks alluring as she walks. Her limbs dance seemingly unhindered by gravity. This woman wears thickly worn make-up, literally caked like mud on her forehead, arms, and legs. She carries a small dagger, and several small bags hand from a rudimentary rope masquerading as a belt. This outfit protects her modesty than any reasonable elements. In contrary, this elfin character seems to embrace nature rather than hide from it. Is she a member of this forest, or is the woodland merely an extension of her will, something exercise at her bold whim?

Quinlan: "Saved our lives? I've heard nought but falsehood from elvish lips. Why should today be different."
<Quinlan can't help but notice the shapely thighs...>

Drugan leans on his crutch and strokes Gerty's neck.
"Well girl if you've saved us it might help to tell us exactly what you've saved us from and if it could come back to threaten us in the future"
Drugan grins flashing his sharp teeth in a feral smile.
"You of course have our thanks"
"However we tend to like the only danger left behind us to be "Mortuus quod Perfectus" ( dead & done )"
Drugan frees his bolos and keeps a wary eye on the surrounding cover.
OOC: Ok 6 spells equal 2 spells per person so everyone who wanted to learn some spells from Drugan pick 2 and he will have taught those to you.
While they travel Drugan will have his shield slung on Gerty and will use his trident to help him stump along.

Poncho: "Ho ho, enough with the innuendo lads. Yonder elf maiden surely has the caltrops to aid us in our quest."
"Besides won't an elf be useful in the forest... she can blend in with the trees and whatnot."

Melanthios: "We are looking for some smalltime bandits who are said to be in this area. They call themselves the Black Brigade. Do you know where they might be hiding?"

"Indeed, I saw a band of men thundering on horseback near here just a few hours ago."The lithe elf maiden walks down towards the grinning fighting man, and smiles a devilish grin. "However, I was not in a ...position to protect myself from such marauders. I tend to lay in wait."

Verklud goes to them and examines the stones closely. The examination reveals nothing further. The pillars are safe to touch and do not seem to be exerting any malign influence. The glyphs are unknown and completely incomprehensible to Varklud (and the others). [Krzyzewski, could you please use another color for the dialog. The one you've been using so far is not visible on a light background .]

"Be careful, traveller. The milestones are placed here for a reason.
"Why do you all care about the riders? I sensed they were powerful in force, but do they seeks to harm you? These wild lands are a dangerous place, you realize. You should defend yourselves...I mean, even I surprised you."
Mahara-la stands by idle, wanting some fellowship since her exile into the woodlands.

Poncho: "Hail Mahar... mahum.. elf babe. "
"We're seeking these riders because they've been hi-jacking caravans. There is a reward offered for the return of these goods and we would welcome your company and gladly split the take with you."
"If these black riders are rollicking up and down the highway in force, as you say, then perhaps we should have a point team go ahead and the rest of us be ready to slip into the trees. How many riders did you see and which way did they go?"

Quinlan: "Lots of questions and no answers... Yes, that sounds just like an elf. Perhaps you should tell us what you know about these marker stones; then we can decide whether having an elf to guide us through the woods is preferable to being devoured whole by a slavering deodand. At this juncture, I'm undecided..."
