Verklud will turn the mule around and throw a Lance at one if the fleeing brigands. If this is not possible due to distance or line of sight, I'll instead, bind the downed brigand with a rope.

Charles hurls his enchanted trident at one of the fleeing riders hoping to bring him down with a single strike. He then draws his broadsword, grabs his shield, and charges them in order to cut off their escape.
OOC: Throws trident 2d6 +5 1 + 3 + 5 = 9

Poncho does likewise, firing his crossbow at the other rider, then charges in with Francisca and hook. If the riders go down Poncho will try to stop their horses running off.
OOC: Firing crossbow: 6 + 4 + 3 = 13 (doubled for Curare) = 26 + 6 = 32 HPT That should do the job, if it hits.

Mahara-la will grab the rope used to trip a rider and seek to bind said bandit. A bird in the hand...

Alwyn will cast The Penetrating Laceration of Koth at one of the bandits, while exclaiming "Welcome to the Forest of 'woah!" Ouch, you're lucky it takes one round to reload a crossbow.

The first rider catches Varklud's arrow [no lance is specified on his sheet] on his shield, but Poncho's poisoned quarrel manages to penetrate his chainmail armor. Still he seems only lightly hurt and tries to urge his horse into a gallop.
The other rider fares worse, first suffering the sting of Charles trident in his back and then the effects of Alwyn's Painful Laceration [1st level I guess?]. He looses his grip on the reins and drops to the ground, his horse fleeing in terror down the road.
[OK, second round of the battle. Everyone can now act. Charles can try to cut off the last riders escape, but must pass a L2SR on LK or CHR, or risk being trampled. Everyone else can attack with missiles or magic.]

Drugan pulls out the stops and lets the fleeing bandit have it with a 2nd level "Penetrating Laceration of Koth" with one of his wands of course.
This brings Drugan down to 5 STR, but dishes out 28 points of damage.
"Mahara-la see if you can calm the injured horse, we may be able to heal it"
"Someone catch the lasts bandits horse we don't want it wandering back to camp and alerting them to our presence"
"Lets make camp well off the road to avoid detection if the bandits comrades come searching for them"
OOC: If that finishes off the last of them, lets take the trap down and hide the evidence of the fight.
Drugan can use his trident to obscure the track leading off the road and we can spread some leaves and lichen around to hide where we laid in wait.
Did Verklud or Alwyn choose to learn the touch of the swan as one of their two spells?
If they did maybe they could heal the wounded horse so we can lead it off into the forest away from the sight of the ambush.
Of course we have to bind & gag the two bandit prisoners for later questioning.
And loot the bodies, can't forget to loot the bodies! ;D

Quinlan spins around with all the action going on he wonders where his head has been... I'll keep sword and dagger trained on the bandits as they are bound, just to make sure they don't try any funny stuff... After all, Drugans the comedian...

Charles rushes forward just as Drugan unleashes his magical fury on the last retreating rider. He continues his charge and tries to catch hold of the (hopefully riderless) horse.
OOC: Huge success after a series of doubles!
1+1+6+6+1+1+3+2+16=37 for 4th level success.

Drugan gapes at Charles dazzling feat of agility.
"Deftly down my friend, when you've only got one foot it's good to have a companion so lithe and quick!" ;D
OOC: All the horses are accounted for now right?
Hopefully we can heal the wounded horse, if not we'll still need to get it out of sight.

@drugan: afraid I've not the mental capacity to learn spells as complicated as the swan's incantation.

Mahara-la will straddle the unarmed and bound bandit. She will attempt to use her gentle persuasion skills while her new-found friends watch over her safety. She deftly slices her forearm (and willingly takes small amounts of damage if needs be) and lets a few choice crimson drops fall from her chaulky white, dry skin onto the forehead of her captive audience. She then draws her injured arm to her pale lips and laps the wound clean. Her palor brightens with the fresh coloring. "See, friend," she says in a coy voice, "I wonder what would happen if I were angry with you. Won't you tell me somethings, please? I'm much more calm and reasonable than my companions." Mahara-la spits a bloody swath of saliva next to the ground by the bandit. She is hoping to learn the number of bandits in this gang, and their general schedule at this time. More interrogation will follow, like agendas, treasures, etc.
[ooc: since I'm new, what will I need to roll, or describe?]

Quinlan watches on with a new-found degree of admiration for the elf's techniques...
