Chet offers to lock up the prisoners in the old root cellar for the night. But he wants them gone from the Inn in the morning:
"Mostly everyone is a convict of some sort in the Wild Lands and the only law around these parts is mine and I have no quarrel with these men. In fact locking them up might hurt my reputation and I do not wish to suffer any reprisals from the rest of the Black Brigade. Sell them to the arena in Esperance if you wish to profit off them."

Drugan leans in and whispers to Charles.
"What say we leave a few to feed the crows at the edge of the forest as a warning to any future bandits"

Charles grins at Drugan. "That may be a good idea. But for now let's get these scum below and get some food and ale. Perhaps we can find a buyer for these extra weapons. Let's plan on getting out of here before dawn. Busy day tomorrow."

Drugan nods sagely.
"We should buy some more rope and maybe see if we can get some large ant-cavalry caltrops while we can"

Chet locks your prisoners in the cellar (which seems to have served similar purposes before, judging by the heavy lock on the door and the pisspot in the corner) and bids you good night.
[Same rules as last time for purchasing stuff and tell me when you are ready to begin the next day. Everybody should deduct at least 2 gp for the nights stay.]

Melanthios: "So, do we take the prisoners to Esperance or do we go back to the forest and try to find the lost merchandise again? I've already spent almost my entire share from the tower (only 1 gp and 1 sp left) so I really could use some more gold right about now."

[If you want to sell stuff, use the table at the beginning of the equipment list in the PHB, but invert the results. So a failure means you cannot find a buyer, a 1st level success means you get 50% of the list price, 2nd level means 80% of list price, 3rd level full list price and 4th level 25% on top of the list price.]

Poncho: "Mel, don't forget we picked up 36gp share each from those bandits."

"So we have 4 broadswords, 4 spears, 4 target shields and a suit of chainmail. I recommend our unarmored wizards take the mail and shields. Does anyone want the swords or spears? Otherwise I think Mahara should use her charms to get a good price for them."

Verklud flashes the mail he already wears beneath his homespun, "After our experience beneath Moric's with the dancing dagger, I decided I'd adopt a melee personality with a jambiya in each mit, to increase my overall stabbiness. I'll decline the shield, I've a buckler stashed away hereabout..."

"Certainly," Mahara-la offers. Mahara-las offers to provide food for the prisoners for a few days out of her share of the coinage. "Ewh. Don't you realize how badly that chainmail hurts...in...different...areas?" Mahara-la will remain with her current weapons and armor. She will gladly invest in rope and large caltrops, though.

OOC: Well, if no one wants the weapons or shields I say we let Mahara sell them for the group. We can keep the suit of mail on the mule for whenever someone gets their armor hacked to pieces.

Quinlan: "I'm definitely in favour of sorting out these bandits... If that doesn't float anyone's pelgrane how about that ancient city...?"

Melanthios: "I'm for taking out these bandits as well, but we'll need a plan of some kind, like sneaking up to their camp at night and setting their tents on fire."

OOC: Perhaps some firebombs to add to the confusion?
