Lulu has pulled ALL content related to Tunnels and Trolls. When I responded to their email about "questionable content" I received the following reply:
"Hello, There is currently litigation regarding the trademark and copyright of all Tunnels & Trolls content. We have been asked to remove all items related to Tunnels & Trolls until the case is settled."
There may need to be an alternate site for the Trollzine.

Well, whilst this puts us at a temporary inconvienience, i think this is actually excellent news and, a strike in the direction of justice.
By this i mean that all the material we have placed up there (and will be doing so in the future) is legitimatley ours and we have Rick and Ken's blessing to do so... Unlike "that guy", who is about to find himself up a creek without a paddle. That famous creek we all know but, i'll be polite and not mention it's name.
You don't suppose this is a product of my suggestion in Outlaw Mess that Lulu be contacted and asked to pull the material do you?? If so, sorry guys, i was only thinking of "that guy"'s store and, not the rest of the legitimate publications.

Yeah I did do that. Before today, when Lulu pulled a bunch of T&T content across multiple folks storefronts, I had solos up on Lulu with Pay-On-Demand format. You could download the PDF for free, or pay Lulu to have it printed. No money went to me, it was purely Lulu's charge as if you were PODing some custom personal non-public content of your own. Purely non-profit. Having a hard copy is sometimes nice to have. This is good to know! I had not realized that you could offer a POD option using only the cost charged by lulu! If that is the case (and the lulu situation clears up), then POD should certainly be done. Now - if the situation clears up... ugh. We all got a copy of that email. Bummer. so... we'll see what's next then...

It is best to let them clean the house before we move in.

*@&!*%&%!!! ARGH!!
No. No, cartomancer. It's not your fault. It's some...you-know-what's retaliation for a number of folks notifying Lulu that their content was being used against their wishes and legality. Lulu had been contacted before concerning T&T material both "that company" and someone retaliated then concerning Tori Berquist's stuff, which he had to prove was his very own. Since all of these things related in some way to T&T, I'm not surprised. Though, it probably wouldn't have happened had someone not been a (insert a hundred horrid words I can't say here) and probably reported everyone else's legit stuff.
Words cannot express my anger at this and the person likely directly responsible, and inarguably responsible for the whole mess to begin with. F***!!!!!!

Anyone could then download the PDF for free or only pay Lulu's print cost for a hardcopy. Then the folks here running Trollzine will have to do nothing by way of managing money and such, or even having to make copies printed and ship them out themselves.

Ya know, I'd like to think that Rick actually asked Lulu to do this, but I really doubt it. After so recently giving his blessing for various works, why would he? Wouldn't he have said to those people to hold off for the moment or some such?
It seems fairly clear that someone is pulling a fast one on Lulu itself. That is, someone who is not the owner of the copyright and/or trademark of T&T wrote a letter to Lulu that essentially said that there was litigation concerning T&T's copyright and trademark and they took that person at their word. Unfortunate.
But here's the thing. Was the person lying? Or is this person up to more nefarious and "that guy"...umm...I mean...slippery things than we imagine?
One thing I know: Someone needs a punch in the neck.

There may need to be an alternate site for the Trollzine. Well, since it's being pursued with the idea of a downloadable pdf at the moment why not make use of Vin's TrollBridgeFiles on Yahoo? That is, if Vin doesn't mind. That way the 'zine could still be posted on schedule with the idea that once everything is sorted out over at Lulu the 'zine could be moved there.

That famous creek we all know but, i'll be polite and not mention it's name. I believe that would be the Unsanitary Tributary?

Do you have to login for that? For sure we will figure something out. I'd be willing to put it up in a few places and maybe do a roundrobin dns entry to even out the downloads. I'd say let's not worry about right now and hope lulu get's sorted quickly. I do see the James still has Starfaring up which is totally bogus Ken can get that taken down if anyone wants to let him know it's in his power.

It seems fairly clear that someone is pulling a fast one on Lulu itself. While that is indeed possible, what if Rick managed to get some legal advice and a cease and desist type letter was sent to Lulu to protect his IP? It would give him some breathing room to make some other decisions. It makes sense but then either scenario could be possible as well as anything along the whole continuum between them.

Do you have to login for that? Sure do. If you have a Yahoo! account you can access groups.yahoo.com, login and then look-up clubs on there by name or subject matter. From there all you have to do is join them.

Wouldn't he have said to those people to hold off for the moment or some such? I hope that that's the reason, but have my doubts too. (Wonder if Flying Buffalo is a part of the GAMA - wouldn't this be right up their alley?). I assume hairy feet behind this.

In the meanwhile, what of the likes of RPGNow and/or YourGamesNow as places to upload and showcase the TrollZine pdf(s)?
