I'm a professional artist and designer, and I'm not aware of any professional, ethical, or material concern that would prohibit you from compressing or changing the resolution of licensed graphics. That would be a pretty strange demand; can anyone tell me how enforcing this is in the artists' interest at all?
If any artists actually asked for this prohibition in their agreement, please forgive my ignorance. I just don't get it.
Edit: Spelling, clarity.

mgtremaine: could you please not do that. We don't have permission from some of the artists to do that, and we don't want to offend anyone. If you want to shrink it for your own use, sure thing, but please don't post it online! This issue is the size it is, sorry but them's the breaks. Next Issue we will look at the size issue! No worries I shrunk only too see how much would be saved I didn't have a need for it that way I just saw the post about size limit for Blue Frog and figured I'd mention. I did not post anywhere I was waiting for a actual request from you or dan. Consider it gone. -Mike

Armers is now fixed :-) Pages just Exports as Best, Better and Good there are no compression options, but next issue we'll ask for the artists to prepare their work for layout and distribution. But this is issue is full print quality :-) Ahh...you'll need acrobat to actually control the compression if you use the export; if you instead use the compressed PDF in the print dialogue, you can tweak some settings, espeically if you use a print driver with 300DPI.

Soon trolls everywhere will be saying "Outlaw who?!!!" Now there's a solo for you: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to sneak into the Purloined Publication's warehouse. There you must find and retrieve the Troll God's missing manuscripts. While there, if you should happen to find other manuscripts belonging to other essayist's you are welcome to retireve them as well. There may be a reward for each manuscript returned to it's original author. If you are discovered, well, you'll probably be dead already so don't worry about it. This scroll will trigger an Explosive Rune when you have finished the end of this sentence. Cue: [echoplexOn] Delver Impossible! *sniff sniff* I smell myself writing a parody here... Not immediatley but as a short project once i've finished what i'm doing at the moment. I need to break the bad habbit of taking on more than i have time to do at once and then failing to finish anything. Deffinatly like the idea though. :0).

I would be happy to do so, but i'm not going into promotion mode until we have lulu or RPG Now hosting, so that it is clearly out in the public domain. I also tried uploading it to bluefrog tavern at Yahoo, but it seemed too big - it kept timing out. I am very happy foranyone else to try to upload it there. Excellent stuff. I'm sure you'll do us proud promoting the work.

Lulu seems to be a major issue at the moment, it doesn't want to read a mac created file. I have posted a query in their tech support forum.
However , we have majorly good news on the RPG Now front. They suggested, subject to Rick Loomis agreement, that it be put with his products in the Tunnels and Trolls/Flying Buffalo group, as we were not proposing to have chargeable products so there would be no revenue to offset the hosting costs.
Rick Loomis has agreed and been very complimentary about the magazine. He made some suggestions about credits relating to non T&T games that are mentioned in the zine (D&D, Rolemaster, Runequest) which seem eminently sensible, so i have passed those to Quogmyre, who was in agreement that this would be a good way forward.
So soon, I hope , we will have TrollsZine at RPG Now as part of the Flying Buffalo stable - which means zero costs and hopefully maximum exposure. I will still look to get it hosted elsewhere as well. I hope everyone will see this as a positive development.

Also if we are crediting other systems i think we may find ourselves receiving exposure to their fan bases. I mean taking Dan's excellent article on playing solos with D&D rules we might find D&D fans tuning into us, buying TnT products to test the theory and dramatically increasing our following! It seems to me that we grow stronger each day and, it's all come down to having the right people on board, not stealing the work of others and, having a mutual respect for the contributors that make the zine happen.

If the file hasn't been submitted to an external host yet, I noticed one minor typo— it's in Ken's introduction, where he calls the publication "Trollzine" (at least twice) instead of "TrollsZine". Having done work for an academic journal, I know it may feel odd for the editor to line-edit the work of a highly respected scholar, but that's what the editor does.

Thanks gaptooth - good catch.
I think the zine was still to be called Trollzine when Ken wrote that. So definitely my fault and not his.

My attention to detail is somewhat lacking-- this very thread refers to Trollzine! Details... De-tail...? Humans don't have tails. They have big, big bottoms that they wear with bad shorts! They walk around going, "Hi, Helen"!Sorry, random cross-linked file was triggered...
