The only thing I'd change is 'damage reducing brawn' as it might cause some players to assume that taking wounds impacts on your capacity to wield weapons and wear armour (perfectly reasonable but not very 'lite'). Oh I can see how that could be problematic (a Knight with a brawn of 13, not being able to move after being nicked for 1 point of damage. . But I would like to keep the Brawn Required for weapons and armor and I do not want to add separate hit points... Do you mean example monsters?

You don't need separate HP Burke, just say - when damage equals half Brawn you're in poop, when it reaches Brawn, you're in the ground.
MRs, yes, I was thinking of a brief list (just name and MR) similar to the sample spell effects.

One other thing (minor), all of the attributes begin with 'BRA' so I can't abbreviate them in any meaningful way. I do like the fact that they sound similar but it's a double-edged sword...

But I would like MR and brawn to be handled the same way and I would definitely like MR to go down with damage and affect fighting ability. I'll have to ponder it a bit. One other thing (minor), all of the attributes begin with 'BRA' so I can't abbreviate them in any meaningful way. I do like the fact that they sound similar but it's a double-edged sword... It is a bit gimmicky I know, but I like them. Also they are so short and few that abbreviations are kind of pointless. Anyone got better ideas for the names? Intelligence, Strength and Charisma is so boring and does not really get the right idea across. I.e. bravado is so much more than just charisma, it is looks, leadership, luck, daring, charm and foolhardiness all rolled into one. And the same goes for the others.

Bravado, Vigor, Smarts?
Brains is the one I am having the toughest time re-naming. Vigor is great. These rules look very playable.

Here are the alternatives I'm contemplating. The bold ones are my current favorites, but I also like the ones in italics. I think it's better to have them all be obscure, rather than just one or two. Brains | Sagacity | Guile | Intellect | -- | Brawn | Thew | Brawn | Vigor | -- | Bravado | Verve | Swagger | Mettle | Panache |

Really impressive that you cover so much ground so elegantly in two pages.
If i was to introduce a newbie to RPG's this would be a great place to start.
I like games with more detail on a personal level, but this is very good. I have exalted you.

I'd just like to vote that this makes for a nice little ruleset (Reminds me a lot of Tunnel Quest written by Mike Hill). I'll be firing an exalt your way once the exaltometer is all charged up again. Oh, if anyone hasn't seen Tunnel Quest, heres a link to the PDF... www.1km1kt.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/tunnel_quest.pdfHappy Delving!!
