Alwyn, too weak to cast another spell, crawls away from the battle.

You stand your ground and slowly your blows and magic begin to take their toll on the statue. It stumbles and falls to the ground. Melanthios pounds away with berserk fury and finally his mace cracks its torso open. Hot molten magma spews out as the thing stops moving.
The magic-users feel a power radiate from the statue and then it fades away. You step back from the heat and the fumes, catching your breath.
Your one remaining prisoner (the sergeant) is fleeing fast towards the gate.
[Your HPT was 114. Mahara-la and Drugan cast the Penetrating Laceration and are both very low on ST. Varklud is still at full ST since he used his double jambiyas to good effect. The berserker's, Mel and Quin, have also lost 4 points of ST.]

Charles stands triumphantly over the fallen remains of the iron statue.
"Well he wasn't so tough. I can't imagine these guys..." Charles train of thought is interrupted by the sight of their last prisoner fleeing for the gate.
In one fluid motion, Charles tosses his enchanted trident upward, catches it in a throwing position, and then lets fly at the brigand.
OOC: Do I need to make a SR of any kind here?

OOC: Do I need to make a SR of any kind here? [No, it always hits. Roll for damage, doubles add and roll over.]

Drugan spits in fury.
"Mahara-la cast your bolos and bring that fleeing scum down"

Quinlan may look berserk but he's only 'peeved'... Look out statue!
Can someone roll for me 3+11 (sword, dirk + adds)?

Charles fells the fleeing sergeant with his thrown trident. The battle is over.
Nothing remains of the statue except a few pieces of smoldering iron.

Charles stalks over to the corpse of the sergeant and removes his trident from his back.
"Well, I was tired of watching my back around these three anyway. At least they served some purpose. I say we blast any statue we see to bits from a good distance from now on. Let's continue on our way to the citadel."
Charles leads the way across the square toward the citadel, wary of more statues that may lie in wait.

Drugan hold up a hand.
"Um Charles, we're ( Drugan motions to his fellow Wizards ) about ready to fall over, if you'll be wanting any magical support I suggest we pull back from the city and rest for a few hours so we can regain our strength"

Quinlan: Let's fall back to the treeline and rest up then?

Charles reluctantly halts his advance on the citadel.
"Ah well. I guess those piles of gold and gems can wait a few more hours. Let's find a sheltered place to rest then. We should keep a watchful eye out for the Black Brigade though. I'm sure those merchants at the inn told them where we were going."

Quinlan: "From the vantage of the tree-line we can keep an eye on the city and those approaching it."

Melanthios: "Agreed, let's draw back to the tree-line and try to get some rest."
