There is a spldoge then a sickening crack, as Aidemar's blow squishes the leech but smashes Greqos hand. Dirk skids to a halt next to Greqo after witnessing Aidemar's brutal smash. He drops his shield and club and whips out his belt knife. "Easy now," Dirk says gently, voice falling into the cadences he used with frightened horses, "I know it hurts but let's take a look and get you fixed up." He gently takes the elf's hand and turns it over to examine the damage. With the tip of his knife he cautiously prys the remanents of the leech from Greqo's palm. The ex-groom pulls an old shirt from his bag and tears it into strips. He gently flushes the wound left by the coin-leech with wine from his waterskin and cleans it as best he can with one of the rags. "There, now. That should stop any infections," he says with a smile for the elf. Dirk looks up as Con and the others re-emerge from the building. "Anyone have a healing spell handy? The poppinjay here," Dirk jerks his head in Adiemar's direction, "got a bit over-enthusiastic and now Greqo's got a smashed hand."[OOC] If no one has a healing spell available (Which I don't think we do) Dirk will bind Greqo's hand as well as possible, splinting it if needed.

Adiemar's skin turns as red as a strawberry, and he straps his bludgeon to his belt feeling a bit ashamed. "I... I was just trying to help...I thought it was something else..."
Greqo glares at the young man. "You," he says, pointing his unhurt right hand and javelin towards Adiemar, "You stay not near me. You are trouble, and where trouble follows." With a more relaxed expression, but still wincing with pain, he turns to Dirk and nods, "My thanks. 'Tis good not all humans are foolish like that one."
"Sorry," shrugs Adiemar, rubbing the back of his neck with nervousness.
OOC: Greqo has magic, but no healing spells unfortunately. The thought did come to mind to cast a spell at that leech, but it would have been difficult to pull off whilst in pain. I decided he was too surprised to really think about that as even an option so I didn't post any attempt. Plus, I don't think he could have done it faster than the speed of the bludgeon anyway haha.

Shortstuff quickly pops the plate in his pack for safekeeping.
Berek makes a mental note of this to ensure he gets his share later.
They both follow Bernard and Con into the courtyard.

"My thanks. 'Tis good not all humans are foolish like that one." "Not to worry, friend. Foolish earned me this," Dirk replies fingering the horse-shoe shaped scar alongside his nose and across his chin. "It only took once for me to learn the lesson."Dirk looks up at Adiemar and tries to keep an even tone. "Just try keeping a cool head, eh? This time it was Greqo's hand, next time it could be worse. Just think of the damage you could have done had that been a sword rather than a bludgeon."Dirk stands up and surveys the courtyard looking for signs of danger. He claps a hand on Adiemar's shoulder. "Don't you worry none. We'll get out of this just fine as long as we stick together. Ok?" Dirk offers a hand to Greqo to help him rise then turns to the others, "So, find anything of interest?"

Milsap picks up the slightly damaged plate and inserts it into his pack.
Old Brick steps back the length of his staff and gently pokes a patch.

Con and Bernard make their way over to the group and apprise them of what has been found in the barracks buildings.
Con motions with his head to the remaining unexplored ruin.
"Let see if that tumble down bit of stone has anything worth our time, eh lads?"
Bernard looks suspiciously at the stagnant water.
"Too bad we don't have any way of leaving a warning for anyone who comes after us"

Old Brick steps back the length of his staff and gently pokes a patch. Flitwing hovers near the door jam watching as Berek, Con, Shortsuff and Bernard file out of the room to join the commotion in the courtyard. The fairy zips to the door as if to follow them then, undecided, he flits back to the door way to the sargent's quarters. No, better wait just in case... he thinks. He ducks through the door and investigates the top edge. Finding a small ledge of trim suitable for fairy feet Flitwing lands and readies his wand for action.

Milsap gently pokes the plaster with his staff it crumbles and a gold plate rolls out of the wall, hits the floor and rolls to a stop at milsap's feet. It's the same as the other plates, but dented from it's drop.

Shortstuff will sneak up to the remaining building and see if there are any gaps to scope the internal area.

Con and Bernard enter the third building and judging by the huge pile of rusted and broken weapons this room looks to have been a weaponry. Most of the room has been destroyed; a collapsed loft near the west wall lies across several orc skeletons.

Con with his staff and Bernard with his javelin will carefully poke through the ruins searching for anything hidden or out of the ordinary.

After poking around for ten minutes Con finds a huge two-handed sword that looks to be usable, if anyone is strong enough, and Bernard finds a strange weapon by the orc skeletons, it looks like a club, embedded with the teeth of some creature.
Their might be more salvagable weapons under the rubble and junk.

Shortstuff will sneak up to the remaining building and see if there are any gaps to scope the internal area. Seeing that it's safe in the third building Shortstuff joins Con and Bernard searching for usable weapons in the old armoury and finds a servicable sickle.
