On a more serious note though, don't worry too much. We all have periods where we find it hard to produce anything at all and, even when we have the ideas, they just wont sit on the page in any tangible way. Stressing over it only adds to the block though. Personally i find that if i just go out and have a good time with my friends, have a laugh, have a chat, the block removes itself. :0). Good advice, cartomancer. I'm actually not stressing over it. That would take more energy than I can muster at present - I have many more urgent things to be stressed about! It's a bit unfortunate, that's all.

That's rough. :0/.
Still, i see the zine being here for a long time and i'm sure that there will always be room for items more from talented individuals such as yourself... I mean take it, were already working on 3 when we've not yet released 2! That is massive growth!!
What where you thinking of creating by the way??

It's moderately sucky, yes. But I know that there are people a lot worse off than I, so I try not to complain too much... No clue at this stage. Probably spells, since I seem to be OK at creating them.

I have your big book of spells you sent me Mahrundl. Its good. One treatment would be to bunch together the spells by the guilds that teach them (as well as the Wizards guild) , so something about say the Assassins, and all the spells they teach. That way your massive piece of work could be used manageably.
Just an idea.

I was digging through my House Rule file a little while ago, and came across a set of rules I did for codifying how to make Charmed, Bespelled, Enchanted, and Magical items (and how much to charge for them). This includes the specialized spells that are kept a close secret by the Enchanter's Guild to make them.
Any interest?

Okay, I'll put it together in an article format for you - may take a day or two. I also have some generic stuff on Guilds, if you're interested - since the Wizard's Guild was prominently mentioned in the T&T Rules, I did writeups of other Guilds, what they did, and the sort of spells they could use (if any), and then expanded into Racial Aid Societies as well. In my world, there are lots of little kingdoms, city-states, independent duchies, and what-have-you, but no large nations or empires (the last one went down in flames a century or two ago, and everybody is leery about starting another one, since things seem to be going along just fine). The Guilds and Aid Societies are organizations that spread between the city-states, providing regional cohesiveness and stability.

Interesting - "my world" is the opposite- 4 distinct human nations, plus the elves and dwarves, all united under one banner to defeat a common foe in a war that ended just 20 (or so) years ago. The general who pulled it off is still running the show, but as he gets older, younger men with personal agendas are starting to mould things their own way.
Classic tale of "meet the new boss, just the same as the old boss"...
This tangent gives me a potential inspiration for an article. Gotta think about it (not to mention unbury myself from other projects!)

There are all different ways of doing it - part of the back history of mine is that the city-state/small principality was the way things had always been -- until one city-state acquired some advanced tech from a dungeon, and proceeded to try to take over the rest of the world. They got about half-way across the continent, conquering every small state they came across, until they ran into a theocratic city whose god took extreme exception to all this - there was an earthquake, the Imperial city fell into the ocean, communications between their armies broke down, and the conquered states rose in rebellion. After it was over, the priests of the god told everybody to do whatever they wanted; the god just wanted his city to be left alone. So that's what happened.

The idea for an article has to do with generating the backstories for civilizations. There are so many possibilities - especially when you factor in the various monsters and magic.
It all starts with a map...

Generic Guild stuff sounds interesting Ishtar.
If people would like to do setting stuff I would like some crunch along with it - ideally an adventure , but also Kindred, Types, Monsters, Weapons, stuff that can be used elsewhere in case the setting itself does not work for a particular reader.

It all starts with a map... and some excellent ones can be found here: Cartographers Guild. Some creators even state in there that folks are welcome to their maps for personal use. Go to the Forum link at the top and then take a look at the Gallery sub-forums.

I like to draw my own maps. Of course, my cartography doesn't look all that great compared to real artists or professionals, but they usually start out as conference-room doodles and grow from there. It wouldn't do for me to be surfing the web, looking at pre-drawn fantasy maps, while attending a project meeting...
