My only regret is there no longer seems to be a place for the NoSaSe Ogre. In an era of emails and direct downloads has he now been retired? Ever had anyone say to you "I KNOW I emailed that to you; I can't understand why you didn't get it......."? Well, now you know why; the NSSO has gone rogue. Hey, these are tough times: an ogre's gotta do what an ogre's gotta do..........

Now we have to contend with those of the Abyss...Mailer Daemons! Congrats, everyone on the new issue! Looks great! ;D Sadly, I've still yet to get around to reading most of the stuff from issue 2. That's...that's just what happens when I have stuff that's pdf-only.

A printed version of TrollsZine 3 would be heaver than your computer. It's jammed packed with T&T goodness.

Back in the day, waiting for Dragon Magazine each month was a giddy pleasure; it was part of the sweetness of RPG nerdom. I completely understand, wilowisp. It's wonderful to have a bit of a return to, "What's going to happen next? What new adventures and treasure will we find?" My only regret is there no longer seems to be a place for the NoSaSe Ogre. In an era of emails and direct downloads has he now been retired? I'm not familiar with that beastie, although I have my suspicions about its nature. I do recall the Pacific Mail Monster though, which ate many a missive and package in its time... And congratulations to Zanshin and Quoghmyre on getting issue 3 out! Exalts for you both coming up!

It's review time, we received a IMO unwarranted low rating, be nice if you could review TrollsZine 3 so we get a more rounded set of opinions.

A low rating because of her internet's speed, and nothing about content? That's like criticizing a movie because of the loud and obnoxious people sitting in front of you at the theater.

*shrug*
Sorry, I mean no offense, but I don't think it was "unwarranted". It was her opinion and a review of a pdf product size is also a completely valid portion of a product's quality and/or worth. To be fair, she did say the content was good.
Heck, to be honest, in this day and age, I'm shocked and appalled that the new 2nd ed. pdf of Arrowflight is 25megs or so and it's 200 pages.

It's an open system, people can say what they will and have every right to.
If size is the only pregnant dog this time around then I'm pleased. But I do think a 2 rating because of the size is a little "unwarranted" when the speed of the download is out of our hands.
Khenn was upset with the size of TZ2, there are still people back on old clunkers and slow connections. What do we want? large issues with art or small speedy downloads without?
We lost one of our artists because I trimmed their work and they weren't happy with the results, so we changed the policy. No trimming, no compression unless asked to. I can make it any size we want, but it might look like crap and lose more artists.

I can understand why artists might be particular about trimming, cropping, or sizing. I'd feel the same if you summarily edited out a bunch of paragraphs from my article without consulting me first. Hopefully, with the policy change, the artist will come back. But, then, some of us creative types are rather sensitive, too...

I think the resolution (and therefore size) of the embedded images is unnecessarily high. That being said I didn't notice any problem with download speed and the size of the PDF didn't register at all. Glad I'm not on dial-up. Mind, if an image is over 100k on one of my websites there would have to be a d**ned good reason! Edit I've been censored! I didn't put any damned stars in! /Edit

Just for the record, you have permission to edit any of my illustrations. Cool! Does that mean I can use MS Paint to edit out your signature and put mine in its place? Just kidding!!! I would never ever do that!
