This is very nice. Thank You for bumping it up. That was the only way I noticed it. (I still haven't had the time to go through all the threads on here.) It looks very well thought out and I will play around with what you presented for use in making NPCs and such in my games. You have an exalt from me for your work and for taking the time to share it here. I look forward to your future posts.

I do have a question for you zanshin. For Background and Inheritance you mention 4 points per roll on the table. Which table were you referring to?

In the 7.5 rulebook they have a table for point buy characters like this (sorry, I do not know how to make those nice tables yet ): Weak=50 points Typical=75 points Good=100 points Tough=200 points Godlike-1000 points The last entry is rather extreme. But I guess it is meant to show the higher end of the power scale. I like the finer scale you have for the more common ranges of play. But I am curious... how did you come up with those point totals. 84 and 102 seem purposeful. From reading through your posts I can tell you always have a well-thought out reason for the math in your entries. So I was just curious as how you came up with these. Thank you for your time.

Hi Marrew, thanks for the positive feedback Background and inheritance is a bit self referential - it alludes to an article I did for TrollsZine 3, a d66 table of extra stuff for characters. Vanity is one of my many failings. The table in 7.0e is all Ken St Andre's work. 84 is the average of 3d6 rolled 8 times for 8 stats , 10.5 x 8 90 is the average including the effects of TARO (triples add and roll over) 102 is the average taken across all the classic kindreds (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Hobbit, Fairy, Leprechaun) and averaging the stats from their multipliers if you were to just roll 3d6 and allow for TARO. Above that ,it was a matter of logical increments I like to appear scientific, but sometimes I just make stuff up

Interesting...Zanshin, I Exalt thee! This is a workable take on low-level/beginning characters I hadn't considered...
