Just thought i'd stick a post here of shameless self promotion (which i figure is okay as it's Tunnels and Trolls related).
I've thrown a little fluff out there about setting up my own website to house my material and solos but, i'll admit it has been a bit of a 'hum-har' affair until now and, i'm setting the gears in motion. I have a few things to stick up there already and i plan to update it on a very frequent basis with new bits and bobs as i finish production on them. :0).
Trouble is i am currently lacking three things...
A name (A shiny exalt to anyone who thinks of a fun and witty name as well as the name being credited to them. The site will be crediting all contributors on a serious basis. That is to say if you want, i'll host your material on the same basis the Zine uses it).
A host: I'm in discussions with a web designer on this one looking for a good, solid, free host.
Art: I've not seriously drawn anything for years and, i have no real intention of starting now if i'm honest. So if any artist feels they would like to contribute when they see the site i'd really appreciate it.
I have a lot of material in the pipeline and i plan to stick up HTML versions of all my solos (as well as anyone elses if they'd like) but, if there is anything you'd like to see, i'll try and make it happen. I just need to know there is a demand for it.

Sounds great Cartomancer. I will happily offer a free edit service for anything you want to upload there if you feel that would be helpful. Trollmancer sounds good Another option 'Toms Trolls, Tunnels, Tricks, Traps and Treasures' - the T&T&T&T&T site, for when two are just not enough. 'Grimshaws Gargantuan Gathering of Gaming Goodness' I look forward to seeing it

A host: I'm in discussions with a web designer on this one looking for a good, solid, free host. I use Freeshell.org. There are multiple membership levels. The 'free' level actually costs you one dollar U.S. sent via snailmail to activate your account. It keeps the riffraff out. See the account validation link on the above linked page for further details. I used the free option for quite some time but grew tired of using a telnet client and unix shell to upload files and move them around. It works but it's cumbersome. I finally sprang for the ARPA membership which is a one time fee of US$36 for a lifetime membership. I now have FTP access to my site and uploads are much easier. Freeshell has been around a long time and I really like the fact that they set the site up in order to teach people about Unix. That along with no ads on my website even at the 'free' level sold me on it. The Unix shell was no big deal as I come from an old DOS background so navigating around in a console system doable. The system only became cumbersome once I began doing multiple updates for my tabletop games.

I'm liking Trollmancer as well. I can't help with the hosting though. Also, shameless self-promotion is permitted, as long as it's relevant to T & T (or other gaming to a lesser extent) and you don't overdo it. (Doesn't excessive self-promotion make you go blind or something? )

Thanks for all the feedback guys. :0).
I'm liking trollmancer at the moment i have to say and Dan has some excellent suggestions. There's no need to worry about website registration though as this is only going to be the name within the Tunnels and Trolls website that i'm looking for, as i plan to simply name the site cartomancer. Really you can be as fanciful as you like as long as no other Tunnels and Trolls site is using the name. :0).
It'd be great if you could do some editing on the documents that are going on to the site Dan, i can send someover whenever you're ready to start. Ooh, i've completed a One Page Dungeon for the site already that the zine is welcome to too. :0).
Freeshell sounds good Prof but as i live in the UK, the snailmail of a dollar would actually set me back a little more than it did you. I'm thinking of choosing a google site at the moment but having not really summed up my options i really dont know yet.
Content i have so far to put up is:
- My House Rules* - Warrior Sub-types* - Wizard Sub-types* - A Point Build System - A HTML version of each of my Solos - PDF versions of my solos - Aeulungs Tale** - A One Page Dungeon
Content i still need to start:
- A Critter Compemendum* - Ruins N' Raiders: A rules lite game built around Tunnels and Trolls - A lite version of the Starfaring rules - New Colleges of Magic*
Content i need to finish:
- Wheel of Fate: A Solo Mechanic
* These articles will be continually updated. ** These articles will eventually conclude.

Why thank you! Yourself and JJB are a lot of my inspiration in this endevour.
Well, i'm still trying to find a good host at the moment. A lot of the free ones have significant drawbacks that are going to cause problems in the long run, that, as i can see them, i have no intention of working with them.
How are you finding Google Sites Hogscape?
Other than time, i'm concerning myself with only putting out high quality content and Zanshin has been kind enough to voulenteer to edit the items before they go live. If i can find the host today, i can probably have the first solo up within a few hours however as it has already been cleaned up and edited.
So time wise, it's rather hard to say but from editing to being hosted will have an extremely fast turn around... I just need to find a host. Lol.

Well guys, i'm happy to announce that the site is now up and running at trollamancer.weebly.com/index.htmlI've gone with Weebly because of the sheer quality of service they offer. So far only the basics are up (Home page, updates page and, the first solo in HTML) but, i'll be adding a lot more over the coming days. So, what do y'all think??

I just played through your solo- short but sweet! Given the ending though, I sure was glad my PC had a trained border collie to help with the last endeavor........... I'm looking forward to the further chapters, and when I can download this (the button doesn't seem to work right now?) One difficulty I noted was that ones cursor disappeared over the text of your solo. I found a way to overcome that obviously, but it was a bit annoying. Not a complaint, mind you- free material has to be worth AT LEAST what you pay for it.

I died to the acid fumes! But at least my corpse's weapon now has an awesome smite bonus! The only suggestion I'd make is to the text format - it was really hard on my eyes. If the font size was a bit bigger, & perhaps if the column width was a bit narrower, it would make it easier on my eyes.

Thank you guys. :0).
I haven't converted the solo to a PDF yet so there isn't actually a button there just yet but, i made space for it as it'll be one of the first things on my to do list for tommorow.
I can change the site design in a heartbeat though guys if it's causing too many difficulties on the eye. Any preference as to the kind of changes you'd like to see? I'm pretty democratic about this and i'll do my best to make the site accessable to all. :0).
Oh, and if anyone would like me to host any work of theres or, would to contribute art, feel free to let me know! These sites are so easy to edit that HTMLing the whole thing so far has only taken about 3 hours and, that's working from scratch!

Thanks Dan. :0).
The site has now had a couple of updates places on it. The solo is now downloadable as a PDF and, i've increased the font size to make it easier on the eye. :0).
Next up will be the links to here, and other good sites (let me know if i miss you!), links to other online solos (Castle Dracula, Buffalo Castle, Khost, etc) and, links to free downloadable adventures.
Nowt i can do about the cursor issue off-hand as it's down to the standard cursor being pretty much the same colour as the background i've chosen... But, if there is enough demand, i will see about editing the HTML to change the cursor completely when you are on the site (i always found that kindda rude though).

I've had a quick look, and that's a nice, clean site. Good work, and I'm looking forward to seeing more stuff go up there.
I haven't looked at Secrets of Saxon #1: The Blood War of Saxon yet, as I'm having difficulty seeing the screen through one of my cats...
