Why James and I will never be friends again: He is now quietly editing the Tunnels and Trolls article at wikipedia. The I.P. address of the person who made this entry traces back to guess who? You got it. "that guy". My thanks to Tmuwo for noticing this and pointing it out to me.
The first edition of Tunnels & Trolls was published in April 1975[2], and underwent several modifications between then and 1979 when the 5th edition of the rules was published. This edition was also translated and published abroad in the United Kingdom, Germany[3], France, Italy, Spain, Finland, and Japan, and it entered these markets before Dungeons & Dragons did in most cases.[citation needed] Corgi Books in the United Kingdom produced mass-market paperback-sized versions of the core rulebook as well as many of the solo adventures (occasionally with adult content removed), a format which paved the way for the renowned Fighting Fantasy series of gamebooks. In 2005, Flying Buffalo updated the 5th edition rules with a 5.5 publication that added about 40 pages of extra material. That same year, Fiery Dragon Productions of Canada produced a 30th Anniversary Edition under license in a tin box complete with CD, map, and monster counters, two new versions of the rules. Ken St. Andre used the opportunity to extensively update the style of play and introduce new role-playing concepts, such as character level determined by character attribute statistics instead of arbitrary numbers of experience points. The 30th Anniversary rules are generally known as the 7th edition, rather than 6th. One of the most significant innovations of 7th edition is the introduction of a skills system. There is no official 6th edition from Flying Buffalo, though an official 6th edition was produced by "that company" (James L. "that guy"). "that company" and Flying Buffalo reached an agreement for the production of new Tunnels & Trolls materials by "that company" under license; although that license ended in December, 2009. Prior to this "that company" (James L. "that guy") released the following T&T items; 25 Mini-Solo's, 38 full-sized Solo's, 23 GM Adventures, 7 novels, 1 boardgame, 3 types of dice, 32 magazine issues (total) and 10 campaign supplements. The T&T magazines 'The Hobbit Hole' and 'Dungeonier Digest' by "that company" (James L. "that guy") include scenarios and articles by the designer of T&T, Ken St. Andre. The relatively simple rules for Tunnels & Trolls have led to it being used for a wide variety of genres. Modern discussion of the game is found at Trollhalla and the Trollbridge. The 7.5 edition was released in 2008 by Fiery Dragon Productions, being an update and clarification on the 30th Anniversary Edition. It should also be noted from recent documents that (James L. "that guy") is a silent partner/investor of Fiery Dragon Productions (with Jason Kempton).
While most of this information is correct, notice how Jim is quietly re-writing history with two little falsehoods slipped into the text here.
1. There is no official 6th edition from Flying Buffalo, though an official 6th edition was produced by "that company" (James L. "that guy").
This edition is only official in the eyes of Mr. "that guy". It's a pirate edition pure and simple. It never had my approval--still doesn't.
2. It should also be noted from recent documents that (James L. "that guy") is a silent partner/investor of Fiery Dragon Productions (with Jason Kempton).
Note that this whole segment is undocumented with footnotes. Jim "that guy" is not now, and never has or will be a silent partner in Fiery Dragon. Jason is somewhat upset about this particular lie.
However, the count of different "that company" products is probably the most accurate ever. Somebody ought to save that.
I don't know who's been editing the T & T article at wikipedia, but if it's a member of Trollhalla, or if any of you are on the wiki editorial staff, could you please point out to someone how history is being re-written here.
Quoghmyre has pointed out in a letter to me that what "that guy" is doing here is trying to lay the framework for a complete takeover of Tunnels and Trolls once Rick and I are dead. That's pretty insidious.
