I've been into the whole "John Carter of Mars" planetary romance genre quite a bit lately. I think maybe T&T might be a good fit for having adventures. If I were to start making stuff up, where should I post it and what should I try to have? Besides John Carter of Mars (duh), my influences have been Under the Moons of Zoon, Mars (the rpg), Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon, Masters of the Universe (the original mini-comic, not the cartoon) and similar settings. Maybe I should look at MSPE too, I dunno. Just think/typing out loud...

There are a whole slew of games out there, literally one to fit any circumstance. The science fiction setting would take some work in T&T, but it's do-able. T&T is one of the easiest to modify, mainly because it was designed that way. (of course they all are with a bit of work) Gamma World or Traveler are also a couple you might want to check out.

Peryton Press are working on an SF setting book for T&T. There is a bit about it by Tom Loney in TrollsZine 2 - Flying to New Khazan.

I know everybody calls it science fiction, but it's only barely. Very rarely does anyone use anything but swords on Barsoom and their guns resemble the ones in 5th edition T&T. To me, it's every bit as fantasy as Conan of Cimmeria, just with less clothing and more flying.

If you head on down to the "Historical and Other T&T" section, there's a discussion of "Trolls on Barsoom" that might interest you.

Just start a thread and post what you have, then others may chime in and say "what about..." or "have you done..." and that will keep you moving in the right direction.

Actually, the real Conan usually wore breeches and a flowing shirt... unlike the movie Conan... and oft wore chain atop that.

Andrew: naked was pretty much what I was going for Read the books. Indeed. Running a Google image search of "Dejah Thoris" with the Safe Search filter turned off is a pleasant way to spend a half an hour or so.

Adamant produced a Mars source book for Savage worlds. It is very Barsoomian with out being married to the books. I throws in some themes from other Martian fiction such as War of the Worlds.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with because I love Barsoom and Burroughs. I am waiting with hope and dread for the movie being filmed, it is meant to come out in 2012.

I just looked at the OD&D Barsoom link...good stuff. I was struck by the list of Honor mods and thought...convert that to experience points for a T&T game!
Rather than just killing things and over coming challenges the richest A.P. rewards would be for performing deeds of honor.
