So, after posting loose notes here and there, I decided to pull my ideas together for a blog. The instigating idea is creating a kit you can use to run short T&T intro games for beginners at your game store, or other troll-curious venues. We have the two versions of a free rulebook, and that's a healthy start, especially when we also have TrollsZine to demonstrate the magnificent creative support still available for this game. What I have in mind is a short, modular adventure with pre-generated characters, with special attention to demo-ing the best features and "secrets" of the game. I haven't written much yet that will be new to anyone here, but I'd love to hear your feedback all the same. warmest regards!

Thanks! I've got a bunch of half-written stuff in the pipeline, and only borrowed time to write. I'm thinking of posting some information on my dark fantasy setting later today.

I've missed participating here, and I still look in as life permits. I've been very busy, but I still take out the tunnels and the trolls whenever Little Nephew comes over. So, I updated my troll blog today: Here's a post about a simple adventure generator that came to me. May your carols continue to troll! [Edit: Site has moved; update URL.]

Fun approach gaptooth. I remember doing Mad Libs when I was a kid. Of course we always thought we were hilarious by putting dirty words in the slots. But I promise I will not relive my childhood when using this idea (:.

Go ahead, derv— exorcise exercise a little id. This is Tunnels & Trolls, after all: you get no points for being straight-laced. Look at the spell names. Today I posted another haphazard invention for people who want to create new delvers in a rush. It's a common situation for me: Whether its a new player, a brush with mortal peril, or a lost character sheet, we roll up new delvers almost every time we play. Anyway, all the equipment lists give the delvers more than they would probably be able to afford rolling for gold, but I tried to maintain some parity between the Types, even if balance has eluded me. I'd love to hear any feedback the 'Bridge may have. [Edit: Site has moved; update URL.]

Excellent ideas. And glad to see you back! Have you seen this character generator: www.ardenstoneadventures.com/pages/editChar.phpCouple it with your ideas for default equipment and you really do have characters in seconds. I'll also plug: www.tavernmaster-games.co.uk/free_tunnels_and_trolls_name_generator.shtmlI wrote that because I got caught creating a character seconds before catching a train to Beer & Pretzels... My memory isn't what it used to be and I wrote down the first goblin sounding name that entered my head... OK so Grishnakh has a prominent role in another story... I was in a hurry... PS. Just the brown box bit can be embedded on any website that allows iframe code to be pasted into posts. I know it works for Wordpress. More random selections to follow! Once again, welcome back!

Great idea for default equipment gaptooth - that will speed up character creation - perusing Ken's 'weapon porn' is often the most time consuming bit!

Now this is practical. Every time I try to have a quick game with the kids they spend an hour or better looking at equipment lol. Then there isn't any time left to get much done in the game. I had resorted to giving them pregens, but that spoils some of their fun in creating their own character. I'm going to use this, so have an exalt for saving my sanity. Quick question, what is the Delver Package under Rogues?

The "Delver Package" is an item in the 5th edition rulebook. It includes a bunch of minor supplies, like chalk, wax, and extra matches.

I like your character sheets, I like them very much indeed.
The attributes seem to be in a weird order but I like the Max/Current boxes.
I would maybe lose the Combat adds calculator and have a Max/Current box arrangement for Combat and Missile adds. Perhaps with a single explanation line.
I really feel the need to fold it into three but it doesn't quite work. I'm not sure why I'd want to, but it just kinda seems like I should ;D
This is far better than anything I could come up with by a long way!
Oh yeah, have an exalt!
