I think you said "Tower Shield" in your post, but then had "Target Shield" on your character sheet. I went with Target Shield, but let me know if that's wrong.
Edit: Cuirboille -> Cuirbouilli pour la gloire de la France!

Aonghasan put ink in his pen, oil in his lamp, bolts in the quiver, etc. before setting out.
Oh, and he also set up Herman's backpack.

Yeah, that's Target Shield: my mistake. And whatever the rules say, it's "Cuirbouilli" (which means "boiled leather", by the way). Sorry to nitpick, but my eyes sore each time I see this one.

Kwll, by "the boy" are you referring to Herman, 'Nasan's proposed porter? If so, I don't think 'Nasan wanted him due to the whole liability issue. That might very well be, but I don't see any IC indication that the boy went away (or did not come). Agreed.

That might be true, but I did not find this spelling in any on-line dictionary, or in Wikipedia. So that would be a very very obscure version! (Or, more likely, a misinformed writer )

All righty then. It seems like we have something close to consensus to go looking for a back door. I take it from Gaptooth's post that he is bringing Herman along. Marching order looks something like this:
Front
Tenkar Owynn Pan Bitsa 'Nasan Herman
Rear
I'll wait until noon to post next, to give folks time to post a piece in the IC thread if they haven't yet.

So that would be a very very obscure version! (Or, more likely, a misinformed writer ) No, no... it's from the very rare Cuir. Cuir - (Kwer) n. An ancient creature once thought to be mythological until fossilized remains were found. It has since been discovered (Lord Korrtermane, Haggard's Deep, 1876) to be existent in small family tribes in remote, forbidding country. Legend has it that the hide of these creatures can be fashioned into armor suits through a process known as 'bouilli' (A sophisticated alchemical process of which the basis is boiling liquid). These suits are lighter in weight than comparably sized steel suits but provide an equivalent measure of protection. Whether the legend is true or not is difficult to say. Lord Korrtermane does provide anecdotal evidence of the cuir's superior resistance to all manner of damage. There is also mention of a 'blinking' ability akin to a Leprechaun's Wink Wing spell. Whether this 'blinking' ability is accurate or simply misreported due to the lighting (or lack of it) in Haggard's Deep is beyond current documentation. Those few who actually own authentic cuirbouilli suits are curiously silent upon the topic. ;D

Yeah, 'Nasan agreed to the terms, showing genuine sympathy for the lad. I compiled Hermie's backpack here, and if things get tough, I can give him the crossbow, and explain to him how not to shoot himself in the face.

You all had L2 SR's on LK to see if anyone spotted the cave opening. 'Nasan, Bitsa, and Owynn succeeded. Tenkar and Pan failed. Here's your AP toward LK for the SR's Tenkar 12 'Nasan 24 Pan 16 Bitsa 24 Owynn 12 Herman didn't make a SR. He was too busy wondering if perhaps his parents don't love him. In case you are wondering what the heck I'm talking about when I say "Take 12 AP toward LK," read this house rule
