IIRC, you drop the negative when dealing with other 'monster kindred'. That makes sense for some of them, but I'm not sure about satyrs. They're unobjectionable looking apart from the goat legs, aren't they? Anyway, unless I hear otherwise I think I'll just call his CHR 8 & be done with it. OK, I'll make the adjustment. Yeah, his CHR came out -8; for some reason your CHR is always negative with that generator unless you specifically check "positive CHR" on the form (??). Should I just call it 8? Is there a talent cheat sheet somewhere? I've only got v5.5 at home. No - a talent can be anything you want. Just match it to a logical attribute, and roll 1d6 for its effect on saving rolls on that attribute when you use that talent. See my explanation at the start of this thread.

Bitsa Hobbit Rogue[...] Talents Lockpicking: Dex+6 Find Traps: Luk+6 I am currently working on my character; however, I noticed this while reading the thread. Things might have changed in 7.5, but here is what I read in 7th edition: So the two talents picked above might both fall into the generic Roguery talent from the rules. I believe the "Talents" in T&T are a little broader than in games like Runequest, for example, and can be assimilated to an occupation or carrier for example.

Not a very impressive lad as a kid, he was, and got a bad start: nobody knew his mother, and his father was a soldier. 'Got killed in fighting and all, you know, so the boy was raised by the garison's families. Everybody liked him: he had all these fast talking jokes, and he played all sorts of tricks. Not that bad with weapons either, you know, since all the garison's soldiers taught him what they knew of their trade. But he had this bad habit, see, really nasty bad habit to always be where nobody wanted him to be. 'Don't know how he did it, but he always found a way to sneak around places and all, you know. Now, as he grew up, this habit grew bigger, up to the point of becoming an obsession. With a friend of his, they put up this act together: he would be chained to a wood cross, with massive bounds that nobody could break or anything. Then his companion lifts a huge block of stone on top of him, and counts to 10, then lets the block go down. And he would escape every time exactly one second before being crushed. Quite impressive: every village around the garison's castle knew him, but each time he passed by they were still impressed. 'Started to become famous and all, you know. "Owynn the Escape Artist" he got known as. Up to the point where the Lord of his land wished to see it through his own eyes. That's when it went all downhill. Yeah, downhill. 'Cause, you know, this Owynn guy, he was so sure of himself that he wanted it to take place in the castle's big hall and all. So, sure, nobody objected. Except that the hall is not that big, you know, this ain't Khazan's palace or anything. So when the stone block crushed the cross, well, there was this wooden splinter who got projected at the audience. Sad case, I say, very sad case. 'Cause it ended up in the eye the lord's favorite knight. 'Got killed at once, not a whisper. So Owynn and his mate were put to jail, no questions asked, to be executed the next day, see. Of course, that was not a very clever move, you know, considering his talent and all. So he was able to sneak out again. 'Sadest part is that he was not able to make his mate escape with him, see. So his mate got killed, big time. Ah! Sad case, I tell you... But Owynn? Nobody could put his hand on him. And noboy will, I tell you. Too hard to keep him in one place. Last time I heard of him, he was heading west. 'Some place called Brokenback Hill or something. Couldn't tell where it is. I guess he found something of interest to do there. He got no insentive to stay around here, anyway, if you ask me... [/quote] I will just wait to see if he is accepted as-is before posting my first IC post. update 1: switched CHR and LK, to make the attributes more in line with the character description. update 2: modified the combat adds accordingly. update 3: added weapons & equipment update 4: removed talent bonuses update 5: added food from the inn update 6: added AP tally for attributes

Welcome Owynn and Tenkar! You are cleared for takeoff. Weapon up!
I'm doing this silly shopping trip thing for weapons and equipment because I wanted to try out a kind of "venture capital" concept of delving. Instead of having a random and usually insufficient amount of GP to equip for risking your life, I figured that it would be a more sensible financial move to buy on credit, with the hopes of emerging rich the next day. Then you could go in properly equipped and improve your odds of success.
Bear with it. We will be underground shortly. ;D

So the two talents picked above might both fall into the generic Roguery talent from the rules. Ok, great catch there, Kwll. So, MonsterMike, what say you? Shall I change Bitsa's two talents to a single Rougery talent? If so, do I keep the +6 (hope so, those were really lucky rolls. I'm really ok if you want to make it a single +12... really, I'll make that sacrifice. )?

Hi ProfGremlin, I'm fine with a roguery talent that is broad - picking locks, picking pockets, thuggery, avoiding police, what have you. See the latest couple of posts in the house rules regarding kwll's suggestion for dealing with talents. I think we'll go with that. Take roguery as your first talent and pick a second one. You're 2nd level character, so 2 talents.

Your bonus combat add from Tallinoor's tomb is for any creature. Not specific to trolls.

Hey, fellas! I'm Dr Rotwang! and MonsterMike says I can play Pan from here on out. So...I am.
Here are his stats. Mike said to boost three of his attributes by 5 points so I'm doing that, too. I can't recalculate his adds at the moment for lack of having a rulebook handy -- unless we're using 7th Ed. or higher, in which case his combat adds are 20. But 7th Ed. doesn't differentiate Missile Adds, so...
...well, here he is.
Panagiotis (Pan to his friends)
Level 2 Male Satyr Warrior Height: 4'5", Weight: 131 lbs.
ST: 20, IQ: 9, LK: 12 CON: 17, DEX: 23, CHR: 13, SPD: 13, POW: 11
Adds: 9, Missile Adds: 14
Wt. Possible: 1400, Wt. Carried: 845 Languages: Common Tongue (native language)
Talent: gourmet +4 (has a dedicated hedonist's knowledge of fine food & wine)
Weapons: Trident, Dice+Adds: 4+3 (w/ personal ads = 4+12 in hand, 4+17 thrown) ST Req'd: 10, DEX Req'd: 10, DEX Req'd (Missile): 10 Value: 60, Wt: 75.0 Range: 10 yards
Kukri, Dice+Adds: 2+5 (w/ personal ads = 2 + 14) ST Req'd: 6, DEX Req'd: 6, DEX Req'd (Missile): 30 Value: 30, Wt: 20.0 Range: 15 yards
Armor: scale
Other Equipment: (None)
Spells: (None)
Specials: Unaffected by fire-based effects Able to see in the dark

Thanks, doc and welcome. We're using v. 7.5 rules. Take 1 bonus combat add for an event earlier in the story.

Welcome, drrotwang!
I encourage you to post in the Introduction thread in General Discussion, and tell us a little about yourself (although I suspect that you are well-known to a number of the members here...).
And to stay at least a little on topic, even if not entirely, Pan's adds in 5th edition would be +19 (+30 for missile). That's standard adds, not counting the bonus add that monstermike has assigned.

Hi Doc. In v 7.5 you get an add for your SPD as well. So you have 21 personal adds including the bonus add.
Suddenly, everyone notices that Pan is looking a little more buff and attractive now...

Weapons: Trident, Dice+Adds: 4+3 (w/ personal ads = 4+24 in hand, 4+? thrown) ST Req'd: 10, DEX Req'd: 10, DEX Req'd (Missile): 10 Value: 60, Wt: 75.0 Range: 10 yards
Kukri, Dice+Adds: 2+5 (w/ personal ads = 2 + 26) ST Req'd: 6, DEX Req'd: 6, DEX Req'd (Missile): 30 Value: 30, Wt: 20.0 Range: 15 yards

In the spirit of glasnost, here's the excel spreadsheet I've been using to keep track of the PC's. Understand that your PC sheet is the definitive one, so if there is a difference or mistake, it is my error, not yours. For example, I'm pretty sure I don't have exactly the right distribution of Aonghasan's stuff between Herman's and Aonghasan's packs. I've tried to be meticulous about keeping track of APs, but may still have errors. If there's a difference between my sheet and yours, go with the higher value on APs, since the most likely error is forgetting to add them in. If there's any mistake you feel I need to correct, let me know. I'll probably re-post this a few times during the remainder of the game if people find it helpful. BTW, it's in 2007 Excel. Previous versions won't open it, but I think there's a compatability pack. Attachments:
