I have a fair collection of dice, and have yet not had use more then 20d6 in one roll, but I have been pondering ways to reduce the number of dice used. In the example given (20d6) I thought about rolling 5d6 and multiplying by 4, but then I realized that this would cause problems in determining any spite damage (grew up with 5e though teaching son to play useing 7.5). Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm sure there is some mathematical formula for figuring it out, but math was never one of my strong points. (Either that or I'mjust lazy ).

That's the way Ken recommends doing it, multiplying any spite rolled by the same factor.

Doh! That didn't even occur to me. Here I was with visions of esoteric algebraic functions dancing in my head to figure it out. Thanks gaptooth.

Another take is to convert your polyhedrals, see the article in Trollszine 1 eg - d100= 15d6

I simply take all of the dice, throw them into a sturdy box and shake, shake shake...the looks of terror on the Player's faces is so worth it. Besides, they get to borrow the Box O' Dice for the same round-hand calculators make for pretty quick Combat Turns, really. Also, I still use 4th Edition so overall i'm using slightly fewer Dice...
