His work with Bitsa to setup traps done, Owynn solemnly brings out his sword and shield, and focuses his attention now completely on the burning barricades, and the ranks of foes behind it. He is particularly wary of the tall trolls among them. Glimpsing at his sword, he says: "Now we will know if your reputation is deserved!"
Then he clenches his teeth and takes his most awesome combat pause!

Herman stands back watching the activity and staying out of the way. He's relieved to have passed the staff along to Lady Ozenda and now just doesn't have much of an idea of how to contribute. He keeps an eye on the supplies just inside the mouth of tunnel four: Bitsa's pack, the left over pieces of armor and such that no one needed or wanted. With as many freed dwarves as they had down here most of the gear had found a hand to use it. Herman looked down at his own sword and wondered once again if it was a good idea. I may be a bit clumsy with blades but I reckon I can still use it to hack. Maybe if I treat it like an axe...
The butcher's boy's eye falls upon the neck ring control box tucked against the wall behind Bitsa's pack. They had chosen to leave it accessible making it easy to destroy in case events turned against the would-be-heroes. A glimmer of an idea sheds light in his mind. Why can't we use these against the bad guys...?
The background sense of nervousness threatens to overwhelm the boy for a moment but he holds fast to his parent's strong teachings of right and wrong. After a few deep breaths Herman gets his hands under control and seeks out a few stalwart dwarves.
"Aye?" a grizzled looking dwarf with a scar running down his face responds. Herman puts forth his suggestion of using the neck rings against their besiegers. "Yeah, tha' could be workin'. Be a mite dangerous though, I reckon." Scar gets a thoughtful look in his eye and calls over a few of his companions. They confer for a few minutes while Herman leans against the wall attempting to get a lungful of not-so-fouled air. By all that is holy the reek of those bodies is nasty... Smells like a cow caught in a fire from a spring thunderstorm...
Scar shakes Herman's shoulder and the lad looks up from where he's slid down the wall to sit on the tunnel floor. "Aye, I thin' we can be doin' it, lad. Ye be hangin' back wif th'box an' we'll see wot we c'n be doin' t'put a ring 'roun' th'nasties necks. We'll look f'r th'bigguns firs' an' then th'leaders. We'll start wif this 'un," he gestures with a ring, "an' then see 'ow events shape up."
Herman nods in agreement and pulls the control box over to him. Looking at the markings on the ring Scar holds he inputs the ring ID numbers and then moves the slider to ensure everything is in working. "Just get the ring around someone's neck and I'll shrink it into place." Relieved to be out of the fighting I hope... and still contributing Herman stands and follows the small squad of Titans to the front lines.
I'll have the deep-fried battered pixie with balrog dipping sauce and a Hobgoblin ale.

Tenkar surveys his Titans. "Well, lads. I ain't much for speechifyin' but this is the make or break moment for ya. It looks like Salazar is sending everything he's got at us in a coupla minutes. Gobbie and orc guards, ogres and trolls. When they come a-bustin' through the barricades, let 'em. Hopefully the trip wires Bitsa and Owynn rigged up will trip the front row or two. Jump in, knock 'em good on the head, and carry straight on. Owynn here," he jerks his head at the heroically posed warrior, "has got some surprises in store for those nasty cave trolls. Pan is one of the most fearsome fighters I ever saw, and Ozenda has a big score to settle with Salazar and his kind. She'll be slingin' some hexes that might make an opening fer ya. If some of ya can chuck a neck ring around the nearest bad guy's neck, holler out the number and Herman here will squeeze it tight. And Bitsa here, tho he's not a stand-and-smash type of fighter, has killed more gobbies than any of the rest of us."
Here he pauses and trys to think tactics. "I want about half of ya in each hallway. You two keep watch over the dump chute and whack anything that tries to crawl through. If we can carry the day, then we go straight up ta the gold mines and free all the rest of yer kin. After that, we're gonna go up to the fortress and kill Salazar dead once and fer all."
The Titans let up a great cheer. Tenkar says, "Are ye ready? Are ye ready ta rumble?"
The roaring from the Titans shakes the tunnels. Small bits of rock drop from the ceiling.

Seagal watches the barricades burning and notices that the flames are not as high and bright as they were a few minutes earlier. The wood of the ore wagons is blackened, and in places the stacked structure is beginning to crumble and collapse. Moments later, the goblin guard returns from the winch house with four more trolls in tow, each bearing an enormous capstan bar. Seagal smiles a wicked smile. "Excellent. Now, my fine Pheidippides. You've been running hard, but I need you to run once more. Go up to the quarters level and rouse the off-shift trolls there. Send them down to me as reinforcements. Go!"
Once again, the goblin guard sets off at a run up the decline shaft. Seagal turns to his troops. "Listen up! The trolls are going to smash openings through the barricades, then you stream through with the trolls behind. We drive the rebels and intruders back to the west end of the loop from both halls and trap them between the pincers. No prisoners, no mercy!"
The guards, ogres, and trolls begin a ragged cheer, but it is overwhelmed by the thunderous roar of Tenkar's Titans. As the roar dies away, Seagal says "Never mind them. They can make noise, but we have them outnumbered and overpowered. Now GO!!"
Four trolls bearing capstan bars - timbers about two meters long and as big around as a man's thigh - swagger into the intersection. Two go to the north barricade, and two to the south. With a few mighty blows each, they shatter the burning wreckage and clouds of sparks fly into the intesection and out into the two main halls.
With a bloodcurdling holler, Hrruuukkk Ptui leads the charge into the south entrance with a column of goblins, orcs, ogres, and trolls behind him. Seagal takes a stand in the intersection and motions the other column of troops through the breach and into the north hallway.
In both tunnels, the same scene plays out at the same time. With shouts and waving swords, Salazar's troops rush forward at the mass of miners and intruders. There is a series of loud TWANGs followed by thuds and curses as the leaders of the charge trip over the strong silken ropes. In the south hall, Hrruuukkk Ptui, three orcs, and two goblin guards are tripped before a troll finally wades through, snapping the ropes. In the north hall, four orcs and three goblins end up tumbling on the dusty floor before one smart goblin guard spots the tripwires and cuts through them with his sword. The charge into both hallways is momentarily halted as the ogres and trolls toward the rear of the columns are forced to stop to avoid trampling their downed comrades.

In the north hallway, Father Grizzle waits with a pack of Titans just beyond the tripwires. As the leaders of the rush start to tumble, he cries "At 'em, lads!" There isn't enough room for all of them, but Father Grizzle and about half of the dwarves are able to wade in and start clonking heads with shovels or swinging picks with murderous effect against the helpless guards.
(Father Grizzle and his Titans unload 112 hits of damage after armor to the tripped orcs and goblins.)

The Goblin Overlord is the first to go down on a tripwire, but being an experienced warrior, he tucks a shoulder in and executes a neat roll, rising to his feet with sword in hand right in front of Tenkar.
With a howl, Hrruuukkk Ptui leaps at Tenkar and sword and battle axe clash together. The Goblin Overlord drives Tenkar backwards with the fury of his attack, but only manages a minor cut across Tenkar's chin. Tenkar parries the next blow with his axe and smashes the rim of his shield into Hrruuukkk Ptui's face.

[Yet more NPC's]
Pan watches the leaders of the charge fall with a wry smile. Seeing the Titans rush in to knock heads, he peers beyond to the leading troll that snapped the tripwires. The troll spies Pan and lets loose a bellow as he brandishes the capstan bar back and forth. A wicked idea enters Pan's brain and an impish grin flashes across his face. "Owynn! Setting this one up for you!" Pan times the swings of the capstan bar and charges straight for the troll, head lowered. The rams horns curling up and back from his forehead connect solidly with the jingly bits hidden by the troll's soiled loincloth.
The troll howls in pain and doubles over, clutching at his crotch. He looks as though he may not be able to defend himself next round.

[Still more NPC's]
Ten of Tenkar's Titans rush past the battle between Tenkar and Hrruuukkk Ptui and begin to pound on the tripped guards with picks and shovels. The three orc guards manage to struggle to their feet under the rain of blows, but the two goblin guards appear to be down forever when the Titans finish with them.
(Titans do 99 damage after armor, killing the two goblin guards and wounding the three orc guards.)
Stopped by Pan's call, Owynn smiles at the daring action of his companion. Seeing the troll immobilized, he says to a handful of dwarfs standing by: "Be ready to finish him off." Then he turns toward the troll and aims his right foot at the his head, in a very ninja-like position, in an attempt to push him back in the direction of his kin mates. "Satyrs. They never end their work properly!"

In the north hall, Seagal turns the corner to see seven of his guards struggling to rise to their feet as enraged miners clobber at them with picks and shovels. Beyond this brawl, he sees a small army of additional miners beginning to move forward to meet the advancing trolls and remaining guards. It's far more than a few miners! It looks like a full-scale uprising! he thinks.
Acting on pure instinct, he runs west in the hall and executes a flying leap over the heads of the struggling guards and Titans. He tucks, rolls, and comes up on his feet in the midst of four miners advancing toward the battle. Years of training take over and he fights by instinct alone, slashing with his katana and throwing out kicks, punches, and blocks. One of the Titans manages to swat him hard on the back with a shovel, but Seagal inflicts far more serious damage to the rebelling miners. Two take life-threatening slashes and two more stagger back from sledgehammer kicks to the chest and face.
(Seagal takes 1 spite damage. Four miners take a total of 46 damage. None are dead, but all are badly hurt.)

The four trolls in the north hall lumber past the struggle by the trip wires and past the circle of pain Seagal is weaving into the thick of the Titans beyond. They swing their capstan bars left and right with murderous effect, splattering dwarf jelly all over the walls of the tunnel. Though the miners manage to score a few lucky hits against the trolls, they are all wiped out in a matter of seconds. Seeing that Seagal and the remaining guards seem to have things under control, the trolls continue west in the tunnel, following Seagal's earlier instructions to catch the defenders between pincers.
(Trolls take 9 spite damage. 13 Titans were utterly and completely destroyed by the trolls.)

That's basically the complete combat round in the North hall.
Seagal is fighting 4 Titans and winning handily. Chances are very good he will finish them off next round.
14 Titans got a free hit on seven guards. But next round, they will face the seven guards plus one orc guard, one goblin commander, and one ogre that didn't trip and didn't act on the last round. The three tripped goblin guards will probably die next round, after which it would be a roughly even fight.
The four trolls obliterated 13 titans and are moving around the western loop to flank the defenders in the south hall.
