You'll never forget your first few runs through Naked Doom [Solo 4]... Sword for Hire is also a must have. City of Terrors and Arena of Khazan hold up well to replay so I would suggest these as well. Once you get all these then we can suggest some more. You should check out Dekh Tunnelsandtrolls.com site and read the Solo list there, obviously get all the free ones. www.tunnelsandtrolls.com/soloadventures.shtml-Mike

My favourite T&T solos are now T.E.R.R.O.R. (Deathtrap Equalizer revamped) and Goblin's Lake. TERROR is sold as part of the Delver's Pack (that you can buy here, for example www.trollandtoad.com/p285470.html). I had a great time with Naked Doom and City of Terrors a long time ago. Pity Mike Stackpole has abandoned Tunnels & Trolls... Among the recent T&T solos, my favourites are: - Boozer's Castle Death, - Tim Lowell's The Warren (free: 71.18.86.171/downloads/thewarren.rtf), - Sligo's Final Exam (the 2nd version should be available here shortly: www.freedungeons.com/), - Down in the Sewer, by F. Martin Shaver and John F. Sasso (free: www.igsgames.com/TunnelsAndTrolls/), and Jongjungbu's No Rest for the Weary at War (http://www.jongjungbu.com/no-rest-for-the-weary-at-war). P.S. Dark Temple, the last T&T solo from Flying Buffalo, is also very good.

ERRATUM: The hyperlink for Final Exam is flawed. The second version of Sligo's Final Exam should be available shortly in the Trollbridge section of Lulu: stores.lulu.com/store.php?fGroupID=5740Sorry about that

the one solo I really remember from my days playing in some of the TnT solos ( circa 1983ish?) was Arena of Khazan. As someone has already pointed out this solo is good for multiple plays with multiple characters, and in addition the idea would work well with a GM and players.

I should add that there are lots of good solos around that aren't free, as others have mentioned. Ken has been turning new solos out fairly rapidly of late. My response was really only looking at the free ones.

I recommend Dan Hembree's solo's. Issoth is free, but the others are also great, well worth the price.
Slightly more pricey, but well worth it if you like playing Wizards is Final Exam, by W Scott Grant.
Sorcerers solitaire is one of my favourites from back in the day.

I've got a question, which, I think is not so far off topic as to constitute a threadjack, so i figure i will ask it here.
firstly, as I have stated before, I never did alot of solo play. I remember my brother having Arena of Khazan as a kid, and fooling around with being a gladiator in the arena, but thats about ALL i remember.
Clearly I have been missing something, because so many of you seem to have been enjoying them..... multiple times..... for years.
which, in a roundabout way brings me to the question.
given that i am about to start running a GMed traditional old school dungeon crawl.... with the gonzo characters from my "grown-ups" game
What are the rooms, encounters, traps, set-ups, monsters, treasures or events, that stood out for you as a player in your favorite solos?"
i would dearly LOVE to take some "classic TnT moments or battles from the solos.... especially ones that YOU remember enjoying them, and letting my "ape with a brain in a jar" and his crew encounter them. If you would, please describe them enough that i can run with the details you've given and recreate are fairly similar room, event, or encounter.
i promise in return to transcribe all that happens in cringeworthy detail.

ERRATUM: The hyperlink for Final Exam is flawed. The second version of Sligo's Final Exam should be available shortly in the Trollbridge section of Lulu: stores.lulu.com/store.php?fGroupID=5740Sorry about that Actually, Final Exam is currently unavailable to the general public. If you find anywhere that is offering Final Exam, either for free or for money, please let me know, because anyone doing so can only be offering it in the form of bootlegged/scanned copies. I am currently in negotiations with an unnamed party to have Final Exam published via a means that is protected from certain unnamed business concerns. If you really want a copy of Final Exam, you may contact me directly. If I get enough orders, I will have copies printed and sent to me, whereupon I will send them to those who have ordered directly from me. Unfortunately, this means you'll be taking on a bit more in shipping costs, but on the other hand, you'll get a signed copy. Thanks!
