I got the reply from Flying Buffalo Games today. They said there are no plans to bring it out as a PDF. Sorry PDF fans. Disappointing, but that's the way it goes.

I have another question.
Does 5.5 have a Wiz score? or is that exclusive to 7.0? If 5.5 doesn't have the Wiz score, how hard would it be if I were to house rule it in 5.5?

magehammer: The WIZ stat is new for 7E. Before, spells depleted and relied on Strength. A lot of folks have house-ruled something on the order of a WIZ stat. It's very easy to "plug-in".

Actually, 5.5 introduces Power in the appendix. Power in 5.5 is used for powering spells just like Wizardry is used in 7e. There are a couple of rules in 5.5 about Power that aren't in 7e, and some rules about WIZ in 7e that aren't in 5.5. But both Power and Wizardry serve to take the responsibility for powering spells off of the Strength attribute.

Woops. Forgot about that in the back of the book, there. Thanks for the correction, khaydhaik.

I think I am going to buy the T&T boxed set and the 7E PDF. That will give me the best of both worlds. Now all I have to do is budget it. Thanks for everyone's advice here. I will be hanging out here for awhile.

magehammer: If you are indeed going to get 5.5, if you can, get the Summer Special #1 as it's called. It's the box set plus more. It's a heck of a deal! The rulebook, the Caravan to Tiern solo, the City of Terrors solo, the group adventures: Castle Ward; Catacombs of the Bear Cult; and The Isle of Darksmoke, plus three small D6s. Good deal. You could order it straight from Flying Buffalo, but you can sometimes find it at Noble Knight Games and the like.

No offense to Rick at FBI, who probably makes a little more off of direct sales, but if you could buy your 5.5 books from a game store, that would help encourage them to keep stocking T&T stuff.

My FLGS shut down last year. I do my ordering from FRP games. From the satellite photo I have seen on Google Maps, it is a small gaming store; it's just not local for me. So, I like to think I am doing my part.
