by the way, MGTremaine have an exalt for the aboleth and chuul which will BOTH see playtime in this series of adventures! Care to do an Ixitychitl and an Eye of the Deep? I'll see what I can do. My rhythm got thrown off because I was using the time at my son's fencing class to do this, but they just moved their studio and haven't got the wireless back up.  Hopefully this week all will be restored and I can keep plunking along. -Mike |

Happy to be of service, Devadasi. You did the hard work after all, coming up with the ideas. I just cobbled them into a patchwork tapestry. I must admit, the setting is a bit outside of my norm so I'm not sure what else to suggest. I eagerly await your play report |

What that means is no cynical or "old hat" reaction possible to creatures like an "Eye of the Deep" an "Aboleth" or even a "Mermaid" really. my players haven't encountered creatures like these so they aren't jaded to them..... which kind of frees me up to go crazy gonzo with them IF I WANT TO. There isn't even the IDEA of an "official" version to the monster.... << (Note to self, learn how to quote in this software.)

One might shudder with this opportunity: think of the original Lovecraft stories where characters were seeing things for the first time. Even if your players characters are used to monsters and magic, you might want to play up the truly alien nature of the situation. Imagine a temporary alliance with the man-eating shark types against the elder gods...

The Cult of the Blue Oyster: These mad fools (all kindreds) worship the blue oysters for which the shoal is named. Arm them with cutlasses, tridents, and fishing nets (to start a war with the mad mermaidens, of course!)
