I wanted to set the stage for this game with a couple of initial maps. NOTE: these maps are for purposes of PLAYER immersion. PLAYER CHARACTER's, particularly more bestial brained ones, WILL NOT know or understand much of this. Blightus has a pretty good concept of that which lies outside of 100 mile radius of his lair, but its unlikely that any of his would be henchmen do.
I thought first to set this adventure firmly in Trollworld. Specifically on the map of Kabal provided with the 7.5e rules. I know this isn't the "original" Trollworld, but that just makes it easier for me to claim it all as MINE and not have to compete with any continuity issues.
So, without anymore blather, i officially locate this campaign on the Trollworld map. The actual space THE CHARACTER's will occupy can be located in the central Northeasterly portion of the continent. The very Northernmost reaches of the Darksmoke forest, along with the secondary, smaller forest to its North... hereafter known as the Riddlewood. Though Zind proper is not on the smaller playmap, i have included a mountainous area known as the Foothills of Zind as our Southernmost boundary. The small set of two mountain peaks, just west of the northernmost reaches of the Darksmoke and the Southernmost area of Riddlewood is heretofor known as Buzzaard's Crotch.
Here is a second map...... using "google zoom" we have closed in on the aforementioned hundred or so square miles. the line running North to South is an important trade road between Beal and Hylax, punctuated every fifty miles or so with a keep and garrison of soldiery from Beal. The outpost on this map houses 100 footsoldiers and 25 mounted men. Its known as Fort Liberty.
Other important spots of some repute.... the towns of Saltlick ( primary industry is salt) and the town of Flonkerton, which sits safely in the shadow of fort Liberty. the well known and loved "Woods Edge Inne and Trading Post" lies halfway between the two.
