This is really great news! I've been away for a while and missed out on this piece of information.

Ken has posted again on the Outer Sanctum. They've submitted the kickstarter to Amazon for approval. Should be up any time. Gonna be up for 33 days.
woo-hoo!

What do we know about deluxe, the new and the changes it will incorporate?
I've only been playing about a week and already I'm desperately hoping we'll no longer see monsters with 392 MR and 40d6 as a result. I'm also hoping SRs will be given a maximum level because right now I think they just go as high as needs be. Finally, what about making combat less of an attrition. As I found out, a 3d6 +12 vs 6d6 +26 with enough armour, can take a very long time to resolve. Or are these slugfest resolved through more use of SRs? I think they are, so I'm hoping more guidance will be given on using them

Hey Sparky, I think like Wizardawn: I'm definitely not sure dT&T will solve any of the issues you describe. T&T is one tricky game in that most of what makes it awesome is not written in the rulebook. Take your attrition scenario: the deadlock should be an incentive for the players (or GM) to start attempting things outside of the box, ie not written in the rules. There is a good article on that in one of the Trollszines named 'Dare to DARO' which describes that in details. This very article should be made part of the rules really. As for the maximum SR level, I somehow have the same issue as you have. But if the rules don't give any limit, you have the right to set it -- and consider that higher levels are for super duper beings (super-heroes / gods / whatever). Or you can get used to it. Remember that this is not a game of balance and boundaries, but of imagination and house rules. Though simpler, it probably requires more efforts on the GM's part.

Yep. You're not going to get a significantly different game with dT&T I'd expect.
Don't sweat the Monster Ratings, as they can be whatever you wish. Despite Fifth Ed. giving examples (stress that...examples of an orc on the first level of a dungeon having an MR of 40 on up to MR140 on the sixth level of a dungeon, I never used an MR higher than about 75 that I recall...and even that was for incredibly powerful monsters. I believe it's a better idea to utilize various special powers for powerful monsters rather than rolling a billion dice.
Don't sweat the stalemates, because in all the years I ran the game it never ever happened. If it had, very likely a single combat SR would have put an immediate stop to it.

Sparky, are you using spite damage? I am yes. It definitely does make a difference but, I dunno, perhaps I'm expecting too much

When two opponents meet in ACTUAL hand to hand human combat i( in real life). Generally one or other of the combatants is a superior fighter. In almost every case of REAL human combat, it is a forgone conclusion that ( other things like weapons being equal) the fighter who is superior will win. In the case of two very equally matched fighters what generally happens in real life is a long slugfest that niether side can actually get a real breakthrough in.... Like an MMA stalemate.... How many minutes do two equal fighters go before..... (What?)
Before someone finally breaks through and makes the luck save, dex save, or strength save that finally tilts the scales in her balance! ... And once this is FINALLY achieved, then the loser should go down quickly!
But one or other of the fighters is going to have to try something... And in game terms that means somebody is going to have to try a charisma save: "your shoes are untied." Don't fight the system Sparky... Surrender to it

I completely agree with this. Being a fencer myself, I can certainly appreciate the fact that T&T's combat system is probably, in its own way, one of the more realistic there is.

Finally the HARDCOVER edition of the Rules is available NOW to all who want it. The Amazon page is a bit confusing as we originally just had the softcover edition for sale there, but now both versions are on that page, Click on the yellow “See all Buying Options” button on the right side, then scroll down and you’ll see the Hardcover edition is now listed. I also added a new photo there that shows the hardcover book. (its the last of 7 pictures on the Amazon page). The Hardcover price is $60. (Softcover is $40) Here's the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/094024490X/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=
