"Well, I'll not be paying for drinks this time," Finnegan says to Nebless, "Why don't you, all's considering your going to be drinking the most."

Master Ho sees three interesting events happening at the same time. First the music, of course, then the argument about the ale expenses between Nebless and Finnegan, and finally stern discussion between the owner and little Flick. All things considered, he decides to concentrate on the later.

"I'll pay for mine and you can pay for yours" Nebless angerly retorts.
"If you don't want to pay for your drinks, take it up with the matron, I'm sure there's a sable to muck out somewhere."
"Just the kind of work a Hobb's made for." Nebless grumbles quietly.

"Thank you ma'm," Banoc says to the woman. "Beds, supper, and breakfast for seven please."
"Easy now Nebless," Banoc says. "Finnegan covered our tab at the Eye in Kendor. He laid down quite a pile of silver after you left without putting down enough to cover your own portion."
Banoc turns to Finnegan.
"You did some excellent work today my friend. I'll cover your drinks."
OOC: So, 9 gold and 1 silver will cover lodging, breakfast and supper for the group. Banoc can throw in the spare silver to leave 1 gold for each of us from the pouch.

OOC: 7? Banoc, de Morsac, Master Ho, Finnegan, Nebless and Flick
I don't think we'll need to count Ruby for sleeping under a human roof, but food yes if she shows up.

OOC: I thought it best to include Ruby. Banoc would not want to leave her out in the cold. She's a bit unpredictable and comes and goes, but she has pulled her weight when needed.

Ale is drunk and food is consumed (toasted cheese, bread and roasted vegetables as requested for Flick, a delicious meal of cooked ham with spring vegetables in a cider and cream sauce for everyone else). Lisanne dotes attention on the party, and Flick in particular, (though always wary of her Mother's ever-watchful eye). The fire crackles on the hearth, the balakandria plays on quietly, and the weary company of adventurers are soon thoroughly at their ease...
(O.O.C: Okay, I'm still waiting to see how de Morsac plans to develop his conversation with the elvish minstrel, and for any information about what Ruby may be up to.
While I'm waiting on this, is there anything any of the others would care to do, or any plans for future courses of action you may care to make?)

Master Ho enjoys his meal, realizing once again that the simplest pleasures are probably the best. He observes with attention the behavior of Lisanne, and thus doing tries to understand the dynamics between her and her mother. A direct inquiry probably not being the most sensible thing to do, he closes his eyes for a while to try and feel the spiritual activity going on in this place.

Banoc looks for an opportunity to speak to Tolloby in order to inquire about the local shops.
"Is there a blacksmith in town? A general store? A place to acquire weapons or repair armor?"
OOC: Banoc will also want to try to heal some of Nebless, de Morsac, and Master Ho's wounds over the course of the night. This will, of course, depend on the privacy of the accommodations given the land lady's warning about magic. If he can, I was planning on casting the Healing Hand three times then sleeping for a couple of hours, waking and casting three times, sleeping, and then once more at least so each of them get three castings. Unless you would like to rule that Banoc could fully heal all three over the night and still get enough sleep?

De Morsac orders a meal and tries to get some information about Elfindame Shasandrealia's Troupe Etheriale, a group of minstrels he would particularly like to hear again... "The Etheriale?" the minstrel says, nodding; "Yes, I know of them. Elfindame Shasandrelia's reputation goes before her. They are upon the Isle, to the best of my understanding. I believe they performed in Kendor quite recently - at the birthday celebrations for the Castellan's daughter; a great success, although I understand the affair as a whole was slightly marred by unexpected complications..." Is that a scuttling of red and a half-stifled snort somewhere on the periphery of de Morsac's senses? Perhaps not... "As to where they might be now," the minstrel continues; "I am afraid I cannot tell you. I believe they have left Kendor and I cannot think the smaller villages hold much custom for them. So I would conclude they have passed North of the river and into the Mists. And what awaits them there... Who knows?" "My sister may be able to tell you more," he adds, nodding to the hooded woman sat across from him, watching de Morsac silently from the shadowed folds of her cloak; "She has a talent for seeing that which eludes the rest of us. A mere palmful of gold may buy you the answers you seek." He returns to plucking gently at the strings of the balakandria.

"A blacksmith there is, my lord, to be sure," says Tolloby; "And he does some small work in the way of arms an' armour, but not much - shoein' horses an' mending cartwheels is more his line, but he might be able to accomodate you." "No store as such," he goes on; "Folk in these parts tend to look to their own needs, but there's the peddler comes through the village most weeks - strange sort he is, but he's ever got an eye for the exotic, and what he can't pull out of the back of that wagon of his when he's asked to I'm sure I don't know!" O.O.C: There's a lot of healing to be done! Nebless alone is down 14 CON and it costs Banoc 3 STR to patch up just 1! I'll let you do your three castings if you wish, but Banoc will be pretty tired from his exertions and such a broken night's sleep.

"What about a healer? Or an herbalist? Do you have one of these in town?" continues Master Ho, following up on Banoc's interrogation.

Saloon of the Plough & Maiden... "What about a healer? Or an herbalist? Do you have one of these in town?" continues Master Ho Flick perks up at Master Ho's suggestion. "Yes, a local herbalist would be quite helpful," he considers for a moment, "Or anyone else with a decent understanding of the variety of plants in the area. Our companions could certainly use some healing and since I do not know any spells that will be of service we will have to rely upon the Mother's bounty."

"Well..."
Tolloby looks slightly uncomfortable.
"For healing, herbs an' the like, most folk see Mother Augusta at the church; a most learned woman she is, but she's a servant of the Goddess. Beggin' your pardon, but I'm not sure how she'd take to all of your company, if you follow my meaning..."
He darts Flick a furtive, somewhat embarrassed glance...
