"Leave? Of course I will leave! Who would be mad enough to stay in this stinking pit? I will take the first chance I have to be as far from this place as possible in the fastest possible way!" bursts Ozmenton. He was about to mention all the horrors and trials he wen through during his stay to nail his point, when something else came up in his mind. "You will of course provide a guide to bring us to the nearest traveled path, won't you?"
Elethiran looks to the others, then at Cludbear. She speaks up, voice clear. "The gods only know how savagely I would kill for a long hot bath, fine wine and a long foot massage, but if you heal my companion..." she waves a hand at the bear whose grinding his backside up and down against the wall "...I will offer my aid. Ne'er let it be said that good sense or sanity was a trait of the ruling family where I come from."
"Comes from years of marrying each others cousins I suppose." she mutters.
She turns to Ozmenton, looks at him for a moment, then at the others. "What say you? All the gold in the world is worth nought compared to fine friends who stand side by side and back to back when things go array. I ask you see this through with me and the bear..."
"Grrrowwwr?" says Clud, looking round for the first time and wondering what's been said.
"... and besides, we have a chance to make a genuine difference here. Out there? Beyond the desert it's dog eat dog, and death is ne'er far away for the likes of us. May as well see this through for good or ill, and see where the dice of fate land..."
"I can't believe that worked, lets hear it for not dying in a bloodbath!"
After hearing Auriga's words Verner scratches his chin and considers.
"We'd need equipment and squires to help carry it, we can't fight and haul at the same time"
Verner begins to pace and postulate at length.
"Do you think the factions can hold this truce long enough to destroy this demon-god thing?"
"Speaking of which can we find this thing?"
"Annnnd of course we'd need a truly obscene amount of loot ;D AND the means to get it back to civilization"
"If we can get all that straightened out I'd personally like nothing more than to see this through to the end!"
Saying this Verner breaks out into a grin. Genzo (Were-Wolf Warrior lvl 1 Att: H - 3d6+4 W - 1D6+18 Def: 0 Con: h- 14/14 W - 48/48 AP:106)
Genzo shakes his wolfy head and at the trouble Verner is going to get them into, at least if they don't end up dead they'll be stinking rich.
The BEST kind of stinking!
"For a look or a word, scarce thought or heard, I follow a fading fire. "Past bead and bell and the hangman's cell, like a harp-call of desire. "I may not see the road I ride for the witch-fire lamps that gleam; "But phantoms glide at my bridle-side, and I follow a nameless Dream." R.E. Howard
"I think it is time that we left this place," Falcnor says. Balgar looks disappointed but nods in agreement. "We wish you well, but we have our own battles to fight far from here."
Auriga turns to Ozmenton, Falcnor, and Balgar first.
"Yes, I will provide you with a guide, food, water, and the reward you were promised. I wish you safe travels and thank you for your service."
Auriga then turns to Elethiran, Clud, Verner, and Genzo.
"You are most welcome to our sect. You may take permanent places in the chamber that you rested before. I will see to your friends injuries myself, for his wounds are not from normal weapons. I sense a curse upon him. Worry not my friend, you wil be healed."
"We will provide what equipment that we can. The warriors of Gorm and Madarua should be able to give you weapons and armor as well as additional fighters to assist you."
"As far as the strength of the alliance, only time will tell. I will go and meet with Pandora and Kanadius. When I return I will have more information and, I hope, a plan. Below the crypt is the tier that formed the base of the pyramid. Many of our people are there, held under the sway of Zargon. If they could be brought here, I may be able to clear their minds and bring them back to us increasing our numbers. Below the pyramid are the catacombs that were never finished. At the lowest depths is the pit of Zargon which our ancestors unknowingly opened. I believe he lies there still, feeding on our people."
"But for now, please rest. You will find the rest of your reward waiting for you."
With that Auriga departs and you are left under the care of two apprentices that take you to the barracks and bring you food, water, wine, and a pouch filled with jewels.
OOC: Everyone take 100 AP for the encounter in the Temple of Madarua. Everyone is fully healed including Clud. The pouch contains 2000 gp worth of assorted jewels.
I'll assume that you collected the items stored in the crypt on your way out (see loot thread), so you have access to any of the items in that thread. If you take any of them let me know.
PLEASE update your character sheets.
Kwll, are you leaving the game? If Ozemnton would like to reconsider he may, if not its been fun to have you here.
Falcnor and Balgar will be leaving unless another player wants to join the game and take them over. I'd prefer that you each not have more than two characters and I'd prefer not to have PC-like NPCs.
You will have the option of taking on some henchmen from the three factions.
Those characters that are leaving should receive full shares of any loot you have won.
Feel free to talk amongst yourselves. I'll need some time to set up the next leg of the adventure.
