Hey, everyone,
I just wanted to give everyone here on the 'Bridge a heads up - the staff has been notified that our forum has been scheduled for a system upgrade to the new Proboards v.5. This is expected to occur sometime in the next month, specifically between 29 April and 29 May. The time span for the actual upgrade process is roughly 15 minutes, though could run out to 45 minutes, or so, for large forums. I doubt it'll take all that long for our little home-away-from-home.
Since we've had a couple three hiccups with losing posts and such I just wanted everyone to know that we're expecting this change. There should be absolutely no loss of data. If you login at some point in the next month and see a 'board design you don't recognize, don't worry, it's most likely because the staff hasn't had a chance to customize the default template. I'm not sure if that will be something Mahrundl and I have access to or if it's strictly an Admin function. If it's the latter, we'll work with Vin to get things 'Bridge-shape as quick as we can.
Here're are a couple of resources from Proboards for more information:
ProBoards v5: What You Should Know
Video excerpt from above thread.
I'll keep on making backups (until the upgrade is confirmed I'll increase the frequency to every other day or so rather than every week or two) so we can be sure not to lose any posts. If anyone has any concerns, feel free to post them here or send a PM to Mahrundl or myself and we'll do our best to find an answer.
