Good morning, Trollkin!
I'm a long-time Call of Cthulhu Keeper who found T&T via a long and winding road through the White Box Swords & Wizardry, which lead me to Age of Fable, whose awesome gamebook nature led me to T&T.
I got to play in a GMed T&T adventure for the Free RPG day module, and it was fun as heck. I really dig the Saving Rolls and the mass combat.
My primary game is Dungeon Crawl Classics, because I love gnarly, grotty fantasy and am horribly weak to art direction. My dream novel has a cover by Doug Kovacs and interior illustrations by Liz Danforth.
The T&T community seems really strong and is putting out some amazing creative work, like the Trollzines and Trollmanac, and I am looking forward to being a part of all that.
Special note to Vin: This is all your fault. Thank you. If I'm ever up in Chicago, I owe you a game in Erewhon, the Dreaming-Earth.

a hearty welcome from me also! I really love Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG also, just not as much as i love TnT!.... I would love to see some DCC influence on the new Deluxe TnT ruleset. We will have to wait and see how that goes.
What strikes me most about what you said is how you played in a TnT game on RPG Day and loved it. I TRULY believe that TnT is far and away the funnest of all RPG's. There are not very many "hack GMs" in TnT. If we can get people to give it a shot ( usually the most difficult thing a TnT GM has to do, since everything else is so darn easy) , that player will come away a fan for life.
Welcome to the Trollbridge!

Thank you for the welcomes, everyone. Sligo...I remember the purple hat. Where have we met? Devadasi, I am really torn. I love both the super-ultra-maximalism of Dungeon Crawl Classics. There is lots of meat for every class, the tables are excellent, the game is zany and the XP system is my favorite. But I also really love the micro-tiny nature of Tunnels and Trolls. The Saving Rolls are a neat system, and even though it quirks my ears to see stats grow like they do, it makes sense all hanging together. The main difference for me is that I think the magic and Patron system of DCC blows TnT away. But my buttons are the "push your luck" flavor. RPG side/pet project, then: DCCify the TnT magic! On the other hand, I have /run/ TnT twice now and my players love it! I get worried about the "roll a billion dice" combat system, but here's the thing I realized after the game with Cram and friends: there is more math per player...but they all do it at the same time, so a round goes quick! Speaking of Cram; I had a great time, sir! The other guy was amazingly on the ball and the dungeon was brutal mcNasty, but I dug it. It was good to meet you. If you guys do any TnT locally, give me a ping here or on G+.

I have started to introduce elements of the DCC magic system into my TnT games. I ask for a Saving Roll against Wizardry every time a spell is cast. On a roll of 3 the spell backfires in much the same way as it would in DCC, and the wizard will hereafter suffer some permanent deformity or strange condition. I like the idea of one foot becoming a duck's foot, or having one's stool burble and hiss after one relieves oneself. Very TnT no?
On a 4, the spell just fizzles. You loose half the Wiz points it would have taken to cast it normally.
Other than the autofails, the target level is based mostly on how resistant to magic i (as GM) think the creature might be. Ogre probably a 1st level, demonic entity, spectre, or dragon, higher level.
If you roll a buncha doubles or something and beat the SR by a fair amount then the spell effect can double or even triple in its effectiveness. a spell that works only on the wizard himself, like "Fly Me" would last longer than normal, and the wizard would be able to carry more cargo or whatever.
The great thing about TnT is how easy this kind of thing is to houserule in. And the system remains unbroken.
These were the kind of interesting OPTIONS i was hoping to see from DTnT, but I think Ken is more interested in....... something else?

Welcome jebennett - glad you enjoy both the solo and GM styles of play for T&T. I just did solos for a long while, but it works really well for tabletop too.
Hope you have fun on the bridge.
