Cludbear looks down at the fallen ogre, giving it a prod and sitting back on his haunches, snuffling and wiping a smear of blood from his nose. He looks about to the others, hoping for some acknowledgement that he'd (finally) proven useful in a fight.
Elethiran duly obliged with a pat on the large head as she walked by. "Nice work bear." she muttered, and stepped over/around the bodies to take a look in the room. "Make sure they aren't getting up anytime soon." she asked of the others, though declined to add further details on how that might be done should any of the Ogres still be breathing.
Taking care she looked through anything/everything of interest, and turned to the retainers. "These statues. Are they of some use or value to you?"
ACTIONS
Check the room out. Hopefully it'll take enough time to recover a Wiz point.

Verner leans on Clud and gives the man-bear a hearty scratch behind the ears " Good work old bear, we'll have to find you some giants to test your strength against, I fear ogres are no match at all".
"When you mages have rested a bit perhaps a check for magic is in order. this seems to have been some kind of hold out for the people of this temple"
"I don't see the monsters or servants of the demon gathering these holy objects together and setting up a makeshift shrine"
"Lets seal the doors and give the room a thorough search and then we can rest and bind our wounds before we proceed further, there might be a clue to the fate of the other temple dwellers somewhere amongst this chaos"
Taking heed to Elethiran's words Verner will begin by searching the ogres and delivering the coup de grace by beheading the ogres corpses. The last thing we need are zombie ogres coming up from behind us for revenge.

Genzo cleans and sheaths his sword and then begins inspecting he walls, floor and ceiling for hidden caches or secret doors, taking care to check under any rugs or behind any wall hangings that might decorate the room.

Once the dust settles a bit, Ozmenton puts his precious kukri back to its sheath, and examines the statues. He tries to analyze how they have been broken, and how they were transported in this room.

The door to the chamber is closed and Faerwyll, Nila, and Garmos stand watch.
Elethiran's inspection of the shelves reveals nothing of particular interest. The candles might prove useful in providing light and the incense smells nice.
Ozmenton joins Elethiran and checks over the statues and other religious emblems. They have all been extensively damaged and carelessly thrown onto the shelves. It is clearly not intended as a shrine; more of a trash heap.
"They have little use anymore," Nila responds to Elethiran's question as she bandages her wounds. "It looks like Zargon's minions have been desecrating the shrines of this tier."
Verner goes about the grisly task of beheading the four ogres. Vorrt and Gurf aid him, putting their own swords to work. Searching the bodies, Verner finds that each has a leather pouch containing gold nuggets and rough cut gems. In all Verner finds 20 gold nuggets and 15 gems. The gems appear to be an assortment of rubies, sapphires, and emeralds.
Genzo begins to search the walls but finds no hidden compartments or doors. There are no rugs, wall hangings, or decorations of any sort in the chamber.
All of these activities take about 20 minutes. The Wizards feel some of their strength returning (2 WIZ regained).
OOC: How long do you wish to rest here? Remember that you regain 2 WIZ per 10 minutes of active rest (i.e. sitting, meditating, etc.).

Verner leans back against the wall and cleans his sword.
"Strange that they would bother to store the idols instead of destroying them, stranger still these ogres would choose to lair here"
"Lets stop here and have a bite to eat and drink, then we'll press on, it seems that this room is a dead end, but at least these beasts won't be around to ambush us or the other parties"
OOC: How about a hours rest and then we'll go on?

Genzo shakes his head as he taps the walls a final time and wonders at the purpose of the strange dumping ground of religious icons.
"Lets take a bunch of candles, you never know when they might come in handy for light or as a distraction"
Saying this Genzo offers candles to anyone who wants some and he and Verner take six or seven each.

Ozmenton takes a candle from Genzo, then takes his rest as instructed. He will go about the room from time to time to check if he can spot some secret doors.

You secure the door and rest for an hour. Despite the stench rising from the corpses of the four ogres, the Wizards regain most of their energy (each regains 12 WIZ).
Once Ozmenton has fully recovered his magical power he gets up and searches the walls for signs of secret doors, but he finds none.

Verner checks the door to make sure nothing untoward is lurking on the other side and if nothing is he'll lead the party back to the junction and suggest they take the middle corridor.

"One Corridor is as good as another." shrugs Elethiran. She takes up the lead and carefully advances searching for traps as she goes. "Better safe and slow than dead." she reminds the complaining bear, who huffs and finds a rough piece of wall to grind up against.

You head down the corridor leading south. You recall that Kanadius led his troops this way over an hour ago.
The corridor is long; you make your way cautiously forward and time drags by. After about 70' you arrive at an intersection. There is a new corridor leading west and the one you are in continues south. Down the western corridor you see that it ends at a closed door at the edge of your lantern light about 40' away.

Verner leads the party to the closed western door on the assumption that the other party took the southern route.
Verner calls Elethiran forward to check for traps and magic and to use her keen senses to listen at the portal.
Verner then organizes the others into a defensive formation and awaits the mages findings.

Ozmenton takes the liberty to stop his kin wizard by the shoulder and whisper to her: "I will do it this time." His eyes still bright after their successful battle, he proceeds to cast 'Detect Magic' on the door, and uses his keen elvish senses to try to detect secret passages.

You move your column down the western corridor and begin your investigation of the door. None of the Wizards detect any magic emanating from the door. Elethiran steps forward to check for traps while Ozmenton searches for secret passages; neither find anything. Finally Elethiran listens at the door. After everyone has finally stopped moving around she thinks that she may hear muffled voices coming from the other side. Could they be singing?
