So I've been hearing some of my friends talking about using this online d20 system to play DnD over the computer and I've been wondering can this be used to play MSPE ? and if it can, is anybody down to test it out ? I've only done a couple of solo sessions for MSPE so this will kinda be my first venture in large scale scenarios.
I am not sure which online D20 system you are speaking about. Do you mean Roll20? If it is the case, it is not system specific. Indeed most Virtual Tabletops programs are system agnostic, meaning that you can play any game with them. But generally you must make some adaptations to use them for your favorite system. Roll20 is nice and quite easy to use, but I prefer Maptool, because Roll20 has some problems for my use and is not as easily modified. If you are interested, I have made a framework (the system adaptation) to use Mercenaries, Spies & Private Eyes with Maptool: toybox-sw.blogspot.be/2012/05/maptool-framework-for-mercenaries-spies.html It would also work with T&T (5.5, of course).
Yes, that is what Maptool is intended to do. It is made to play online. You would have to launch the program, for playing MSPE you could load my framework and then start a server. Your buddies should load the program and join the game. From there, you could add or change whatever you want (add maps, tokens, portraits, hide maps parts from the players...). It is the normal use of Maptool. You'll find a compleat explanation here: lmwcs.com/rptools/wiki/Main_Page
You could also have a look at Roll20, which is not as good IMHO, but easier to set up.

Well,I have campaign set up on Roll20 for the sake of testing but it seems like people have lost interest which is quite sad actually. Regardless I'm going to keep it up and keep making adjustments to it in the event that someone I know wants to play. Thanks for you're help btw
