Dalton,
Level is linked to post count. You may notice that you're Level 3 now...
The first few levels are relatively easy to gain. After about 5th level, you have to post *quite* a lot to go up further - for instance, to get from level 6 to level 7 requires more than 150 additional posts, from recollection. I won't say more than that, since Vin would rather that people find out level amounts for themselves.

Skathros, I'm looking forward to seeing the megadungeon. I've always been partial to them...

Skathros, I'm looking forward to seeing the megadungeon. I've always been partial to them... Thanks, mahrundl The mega dungeon concept seems perfectly suited to a game like T&T where the "dungeon" is such a focal point of the game. The only problem with something that big is; a) considering T&T's "going back to town to heal" mechanic (which i love) and taking into consideration the sheer size of a mega dungeon, I'll have to allow various exits back top-side. Although i thing a village or town in the dungeon could be pretty neat! b) the size of the thing will require alot of originality to keep each of the many vast levels fresh and new (so as not to fall into a repetitive series of rooms 'n' corridors). I try to consecrate an hour at least every day to T&T stuff (usually early in the morning), but it's getting tougher to find time.

. Although i thing a village or town in the dungeon could be pretty neat! I never used that one, but I love the idea. It would only be possible with a huge dungeon, providing enough treasure to attract the merchants, thieves, ladies-of-the-night... But that's the idea here. Maybe something more like a trading post than a real town. Or run by delvers or other unsavory types, like the Tortuga of the pirates in the caribbean. And always under threat from the dungeon inhabitants ("Don't wander too far from the gate, young hobbit! There are things lurking down there..."). Have an exalt for it! P.S.: I had to use the words "ladies of the night" because the word I used was changed by the program...

this is a reference to d&d and not t&t, so hopefully it won't be seen as too blasphemous - - but undermountain (a megadungeon if there ever was one) has the city of skullport on its third level. it is a major black market center. it has always inspired me, and i've used the concept in my own megadungeon - the maze of absolute, incredible and certain nasty death (name taken from the (w)hole delver's catalogue) located under the ruins of mandrake castle. as noted elsewhere, the switch back to urban play while still right in the thick of the dungeon makes for a nice break.

With the village, there could even be a 'Truman Show' aspect to it. The inhabitants could be quite happy just staying there and be essentially unaware that they are in the middle of a dungeon. Keeping them provisioned would be the trick; then again, isn't that what magic is for?

You won't find it in a search - it's one of the hidden groups, as I understand it.
You'll probably need to get Vin to send you an invite to join.

Check your PM for details, Dalton. Sorry about the slow reply; I've been away for a bit....

I'm going to start this off by inviting any Trolls on this board currently at 4th level or higher. Others can ask to get in after we get underway. Man, that counts me out for now.

Jason,
Since we're now 'underway' (or so I assume), why not check with Vin as to whether he'll open it up to those below level 4?

At the moment, I'd rather give people some time to post before we let them into the files section. My reasoning is that we may have stuff posted there for "private use" which might be a bit shady, and I'd rather not just give everyone access until they have proven their worth for a while. Just me being paranoid. If Jason posts a lot soon, I might be convinced to bend my own rule a tad...

Vin,
Did you get my PM about backing up the board? Is it of any use?
