Nice looking collection Mach. Before I got my 7.5 box I was desperately looking for a reasonably-priced Corgi.

Loved every picture! Thanks for the virtual tour. -Mike [That's a lot of 5/5.5 Rulebooks, I think you might have a problem ]

smokestackjones, the Corgi rulebooks have been pretty well overpriced the past few years. Even when I was almost constantly searching for them most of them I saw were too pricey for me. In my experience, if you look for one pretty much every single day for a couple of months or so you'll likely run across one for under 15 bucks. Not too bad.
mgtremaine, *snaps fingers* You're right! That's what it's called. Not a collection. lol But...but I still don't have a first print! Argh. *slobber*

I've got five copies of 5th edition, a Corgi edition ( wish I had another, I use the corgi as my go to copy as well ), a copy of 5.5, a Steve Jackson Games Monsters! Monsters! edition and a copy of 7.5. So your not the only one with an obsession for multiple copies of the basic rules. I wonder if its endemic of T&T? I know I never felt the need to have multiple copies of D&D ( my old copies of the AD&D core books are still going strong! ). P.S. I envy your copies of Sorcerers Apprentice, man your not joking about them being hard to find. Of all my dream T&T products an SA archive would probably top my list and its the least likely to actually happen because of the copyrights nightmare of doing magazine reprints.

Question: Old stuff, especially from the era before print-on-demand, is more fun to collect--that's a given (my current obsession is picking up products from friends, coworkers, and all of those years I was away from the community.) Now, with the newer generation of products, what determines what you get? Will PDFs do? Is the new material lacking--and if so, how? (Or do you have so much new stuff that photos would clog the server?

I got an email from someone...he thanked me for posting the pics and stated that they would be perfect for an article in a new issue of his magazine. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.
TKD, I actually still don't have a copy of Monsters! Monsters!. Not even the newer reprint, so you're one up on me there. I do know for a while there it was like I just couldn't stop. lol But it was fun.
mosker, I admit I'm not certain what you're asking. Are you asking me personally or is it an open question? I don't have much new stuff. Everything (that's official and legal) T&T I have is in those pics. I guess I don't have newer official stuff due to a focus on 7.5 which I dislike. *shrug*

Personal and general question, Machfront, and I appreciate the answer. Between my time away from the hobby and the black hole that is all of the illegal stuff (it's much like a comic book series that fast forwards and characters suddenly have new costumes), I'm still trying to get a handle on what the future may be. I have many more thoughts and questions...for a different time and thread.

Very nice collection, Mach! It certainly exceeds mine in a number of areas.
I have a few things that you may not - a signed copy of the Infinity Limited edition of Agent of Death in the original newspaper printing*, for example - but your collection is definitely to be envied.
* Not kidding - it is printed on tabloid sized newspaper.

I really envy you the goldenrod-cover copies. Every time I bid on one the price goes too high for me. I have a near-complete run of SA (only missing #1) and it's a prized resource. When I'm in a T&T mood I dust off one of my 5E rulebooks and pull out SA and have fun reading the old stuff again.

Again, I was looking for them almost daily. I'm certain neither the box or the lone book cost me much. In fact, I'm pretty sure I paid something around maybe 20-25 bucks for the box. The book might have been about 15. But there was also the overseas shipping.

Nice collection, now I know why everyone has trouble getting copies of the rules. I got an email from someone...he thanked me for posting the pics and stated that they would be perfect for an article in a new issue of his magazine. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. Hey ho, I won't post pics of some of the other items then. My favourite is the UK yellow edition. Not one of the ones with black tape down the spine. I'm going to have to retire mine soon the spine is in danger of splitting. It's managed over 30 years so I can't complain. I lost my yellow box years ago so definitely jealous of that. I occasionally think of bidding for it on ebay when it comes up. The thing I want most is the UK edition of Dungeon of the Bear, same size as the yellow rulebook but with red card sleeve. I lost mine the same time as the box. I also lost the UK editions of the mini solos but I managed to replace them with the US editions. Still wouldn't mind getting them again. Or better still finding mine again... FBI can't reprint the magazines as they are. Rick doesn't have reprint rights to a some of the stuff in them like the fiction. They might be able to do a "best of" but until that day comes ebay is your only friend.

It's managed over 30 years so I can't complain. Wow. That's close to amazing. The paper on the covers of the little yellow books is pretty soft. It's had a good run.
