Hi there! I'll be checking out this board much more now that I know of it. I'm an upper 40s male from Indiana, USA. I was the GM for 15 or so T&T dungeon delves for my friends back in the late 80s. (Enough tunnel crawling to get everyone to level 9). I also had a couple other long running campaigns: The Fantasy Trip and Villains & Vigilantes. I fondly started digging through my box of written adventures and discovered a T&T one I made in 1990 that I never got to run. Reading it over got me thinking, "Could I find people interested to try this out now through a facebook group?" I'd be doing most of the work and the monsters have been waiting a long time for some adventurers to toy with. I'm using the 5th edition rules and if you're interested in trying this out head on over to my T&T facebook group. Print the adjusted character sheet out, roll up a first level character and I'll get this underway next week.

Welcome speed1000, great to have you on board. I don't do the facebook thing, but will be interested in your contributions here.
If you haven't already acquired the very reasonably prices Trollszine, do treat yourself. There should be a link to it somewhere around here :-)

Thanks Zanshin. I grabbed some Trollszines to look over. Great resource and I'll be incorporating some of these things in.

Welcome, speed1000!
I am also not a booker of faces, so to speak, but I'm interested in hearing how it goes if you get sufficient players.

Hello Speed1000 and welcome to the bridge!
I would play, but I have no Facebook account, and don't plan to get one. However, like zanshin and mahrundl, I will be interested in your contributions / play reports (if any) here.

Howdy, I hope you enjoy Trollzine and if you ever have any T&T questions there is always someone here with an answer ( usually several conflicting or complementary answers! ). Welcome to the Bridge, TKD

Thanks. I wonder if it's been addressed about pick ax usage as far as tunneling? Is there a fatigue rate or temporary ST loss? Any further rules around this would be appreciated if you can direct me.
Looks like I have 7 players so far.

Hmm, I would divide the diggers CON by four and make that the number of full turns ( a full turn is 10 minutes ) they can work without calling for CON checks. For every full turn of work after that without rest I would call for increasing CON checks, if the check is failed I'd temporarily subtract the amount that the digger failed the CON check from STR. Let them regain the strength at the same rate as a wizard or rogue, if the failure takes the digger below one STR the strain has caused the digger to pass out and all STR loss below one comes off the diggers CON. I would give a bonus to dwarves, maybe divide the CON by two instead of four. Between that and their tremendous CON scores they would be real digging machines. For quick tunneling I'd advise getting a Wizard to cast "Slush Yuck" and burrow through with shovels, that would make for much easier work and increase the speed of the digging exponentially. Just make sure to shore up your tunnel thoroughly or you just might end up making some saving throws to keep the mountain from introducing itself to your head.

Welcome, Speed1000! My apologies for taking so long to greet you I have been otherwise occupied with a grand new adventure at work. I'll have to echo others in saying I don't use Facebook. If you are interested, we love to read play reports around here. If you're so inclined, we could immortalize your game in a thread here.

Thanks ProfGremlin. Maybe after it's been going a bit I'll take you up on that. I did browse the other games there. Once again, it makes me realize just how different my friends and I used to play. We are sooo much more action based and sooo much less conversation based. Here's a favorite we reminisce about...
I signed up to play T&T at Gen Con one year. Typically if I go and it's being run, I'll get in there. Arriving early I was allowed to pick from the provided characters and picked a minotaur. The only nonstandard race available. Our task was to infiltrate some castle and we spent well over an hour just sneaking around to avoid detection. It was driving me mad! There was a gate we needed to go through to reach a spot deeper in the castle and I just bolted for it straight across the courtyard. Their were screams of "What are you doing? and "I stop him!" but of course the GM says you can't possibly stop a charging bull. He assigned me a L4 roll on LK. I had like a 16 LK. I rolled doubles twice to accomplish a miraculous SR to not be detected by the dozen or so guards along the wall. After much laughter and disbelief, a dwarf took off after me and was seen and then combat got underway! I guess my players were more smash n bash than others. I mean 20 mins without a fight was unheard of! LOL

Another moment we love was again at Gen Con in a free for all bar battle. The GM was asking everyone what they were doing to start things off. The guy next to me says "I lean against the bar and take a swig of my drink". Of course I say, "I charge that guy!" running him through with my pole weapon killing him within minutes of the game getting underway. My best friend was in the game with me and he laughed so hard at that guys casualness and the way he acted out taking a drink and his reaction when he died.

Welcome! I don't do Facebook as it's EVIL but good luck with your T&T game!
Never seen a Minotaur yet that could resist a good charge,or bad one for that matter!

Hi all, just a quick peek in. My campaign is going great! Absolutely loving it. Playing with my best friend across the country, my older brother, my son, a friend in town and three other guys. We have an elf wizard, three dwarf warriors and three men warrior.
Two of the characters are low enough IG that they will go berserk in every combat. First time dealing with this. Not much extra writing it in but you'd think after awhile they'd be a little smarter and realize who the enemy is. How do you deal with it?

Honestly I've never been a huge fan of the 5th edition berserkergang rules. I have some alternative berserk fighting rules you might want to give a look at. Alternative Berserk Fighting rulesP.S. Sorry it was I was so long in replying, but we've had some medical issues here.
