"You should rather enter with me, friend." replies Master Ho to De Morsac, with a smile which was obviously not open to further discussion.

Alley way, outside the Black Cockerel, Seedy side of KendorFlick peeks out the corner of Master Ho's satchel from under the flap, his hands gripping the rough edge tightly. The little wizard surveys what can be seen of the shadowed passage and begins to feel a thread of fear slide down his spine. The foetid scent of mold and rot plays tag with the occasional breath of brine finding its way over the sea wall to tickle the huddled shadows in closed doorways. Against this ill-scented backdrop the sound of course laughter and skirling music bounce drunkenly off the close-set walls. How is it that every time I end up in Master Ho's satchel we find ourselves in less than appealing straits...? The faerie shakes his head in recognition of the choices they had made I truly wish that cat-speaking spell had worked earlier... Their nature would have really helped in these circumstances... There's naught for it however... We were ensnared in this web when the torc first fell into our possession... The little wizard reviews the spells at his disposal and comes up with a couple of options Plenty of creatures should be able to answer a Call of the Wild in this part of town... Faerie Lights as a distraction and then Camouflage as a last resort... I do so hope there is no such need for a last resort...Flick listens as the others decide upon an entry order. When Master Ho suggests de Morsac accompany him rather than Mel the faerie inserts quietly, "Don't forget about me, I'm here to watch your back, too."[OOC] Flick casts Sense to check the alley way for magic

Seeing Flick work his magic, Banoc waits patiently for a signal that the way was clear.
"Alright then, Dumfis, Finn, and I will go first."
"Mel, how are non-humans treated in the Black Cockerel?"

"A question that noble Finn may find urgent need of answering." "Mayhaps we could pass him off as a lawn gnome?"

Glaring at Dumfis, Finnegan doesn't respond, instead contenting himself with praying to Marn, God of hair both seen and not seen, that Dumfis loses his beard.

Master Ho smiles back at his little friend when he hears him.

"You should rather enter with me, friend." replies Master Ho to De Morsac, with a smile which was obviously not open to further discussion. De Morsac is wracking his brains trying to figure out if a nobleman is supposed to obey a tacit order given by a member of the Clergy and whether Master Ho applies as such.

De Morsac is tired and follows Master Ho with a shrug.

"Good enough," Banoc says to Mel. "I'll go in first. Who's with me?" "I'm with Mel" " Melisande to you, human," the elf says coldly; "And this is your task to accomplish, not mine. I shall remain without. I shall observe, report - assist if the situation requires it, but only if I must." She looks around uneasily. "It is time to move. Are you ready?"

"Mel, how are non-humans treated in the Black Cockerel?" "The prejudices of Men are more the reserve of the masters than their serfs," Melisande replies quietly; "Though those prejudices are all-too frequently given free rein." A distant, troubled look enters her eye and she rubs a hand against her throat, seemingly unconsciously. "But do not look overmuch to that to guard you," she adds, all business again; "While they may show little regard for your race, they will be as one in the pursuit of your purse should you show weakness. Look not for friends here. Let Flick especially have care - they will take him if they can."

"One moment, elf."
Taking my money purse and associated long, black string, I draw-up the sleeve of my shirt, wrapping the string about my left arm, holding the purse in place just below the shoulder, between the arm and the body. Granted, it would limit movement and cut off some circulation, yet it would be hidden enough by my loose shirt, whose sleeves were never tight, though that might be due to them being bought from an older hobbit. Drawing my sleeve back down, I noted that it was hidden enough by the sleeve.
"Aye, I am ready."

She had the same name, you know, although she was only a human. In fact, her name was Mélisandemiel, but everybody called her Mélisandefiel."

"Let's get this started then," Banoc says while shifting his own coin pouch to a more secure location beneath his scale coat. "Dumfis, Finn, and I will go in first the rest of you follow. Let's keep to our own groups to start and get a lay of the land. It's possible that trouble may come looking for us, so be ready."
With that Banoc strode down the alley, hands on the hilts of his sword and dagger. He kept a wary eye on the still forms in the doorways as he walked.
"Always someone watching our back," he muttered to his two comrades as they walked.

"Yes Sahib" says Dumfis as he hurriedly slips his coin pouch under his head cloth.
