That is wonderful news on both counts Gaptooth. Although having two small kids myself I think you are out of your mind. I have also been contacted by Grandpa Chet aka Tzhett at Trollhalla about taking on the editorship. He made an announcement on Trollhalla and then Ken stepped in to put his hat in the ring as well. As stated by Zanshin, I think it is important to go back to a team of two or more editors. This is something that I considered for #8 but never implemented. If we could divide the labor between a general editor, copy editor, art editor, and layout/design editor I think the Zine would be in a better position to put out more regular issues and have a longer lifespan. I wore all four hats and it was a bit overwhelming at times. But I did have a number of excellent copy editors and artists who helped get it all done. Having more people in charge of these different steps, however, would make the job smoother. Of course that takes four volunteers, but the required work of each is much less.

If it were up to me, I would make Ken "Editor in Chief", for as long as he was willing and able to take the helm. I'm willing to go in as copy and/or layout editor, but what I'm really interested in is content: I have a few ideas for interviews and articles I would like to solicit from specific people.

Well, we have an plurality of editors in prospect :-) Most excellent news. The idea of splitting the work between more than one person makes a lot of sense. It certainly worked for Kevin and I, and I continue to be amazed and impressed by danhem's heroic labours.
I hope that the principal medium for Trollszine discussion will remain the Trollbridge. It started here, and the format of the Trollbridge forum is superior to that of Trollhalla in maintaining an ongoing flow of ideas, IMNSHO. Not to deny that Trollhalla has been an invaluable source of contributors.

Yes to this! As we sometimes say in the gang I run with, "my friend speaks my mind".
I would hate for Trollszine to get expropriated from Trollbridge, and I admit that I don't follow Trollhalla at all. I tried getting into it before, and I still log in occasionally, but I find it very taxing to find signal in the noise and to keep up with any conversations.
On the other hand, I recognize that the zine needs a "Trollhalla correspondent", for exactly the reason Zanshin mentioned: There is a lot of creativity there.

I think Trollbridge continues to be the place for it.

It looks however, that I should pull out of the race, Dan. Stepping forward to volunteer was something I did because it really looked as if no one else would. And indeed, no one else did (which is why you became desperate?) until I wrote you and you verified that I was the lone victi---I mean, volunteer. Since there's some question whether a balding old cripple could successfully keep the zine running, it's best if I back out of the room - courteously, of course. I didn't watch 1776 five times for nothin'! At least my volunteering spurred others to pitch their hats into the ring. Even a gadfly can be useful.

Full credit for stepping forward mormonyoyoman. I'm sure there will be jobs for all under the new editor - low pay but high job satisfaction ;-)

Thank you, Zanshin, for the full credit. That should give me just enough to buy a Magic 8 ball for Traveller navigational purposes
----Yikes! I have to learn All New Aliases and connect them in my head to previously known aliases and determine to whom I am talking! If, indeed, I am talking to someone and not imagining all this through a disassociated identity disorder with my laptop!

I really do appreciate your offer to take over the editorship; you do seem to have stirred things up. Such things are useful.

I am in full agreement that TrollsZine! needs to stay with the Trollbridge. Trollbridge is it's home just as it says on the contents page. As such, have a chief editor based here may be best. We are all one community and members of both Trollbridge and Trollhalla have contributed substantially to TrollsZine!, but the format of Trollbridge is much better for hosting the zine as Zanshin and Gaptooth have already stated.
As the new editor (or hopefully editors) are ready to move forward I am available to assist with files, contacts, and advice.

I was sure I wrote a post yesterday about it being a good (if twisted) team up of editors if mormonyoyoman and Gaptooth were to both take up the challenge. But I must have had a brain fade. TrollsZine is a Trollbridge production.

TrollsZine is a Trollbridge production. Absotively. The next newsletter will reinforce this. (Oh, and as someone mentioned a Trollhalla correspondent for the Trollbridge, I would still love to have a Trollbridge correspondent for the newsletter...)

I guess it's official! Trollszine! Updates: Trollbridge member Gaptooth has agreed to take over the reins for at least the next issue. The latest regarding his plans and needs can be found at the Trollbridge, the home for the Trollszine. I'll open a new thread sometime soon concerning submissions for issue 9. Until then, you can reach me here or by email at DeeperDelvings at Google mail with any questions or suggestions.

I'm also very busy, now have a MTG store and that takes all my game playing time.
Congrates, and a large "Quoghmyre Stamp of Approval" for Gaptooth. (what troll does like a warm quishy hobbit between the toes)
If I find some time I'll present some art.
hooozah!
