Upon my return from the stables thisyesterday* morning, I was confronted by a rather large box, listing Flying Buffalo as the sender... Many, many goodies were inside! It's all terribly exciting, and now I have to find enough shelf space to store it all. The Trollwife did want to know why I had 5 copies of the rulebook (limited edition hardback, standard hardback, 3 softback), and I pointed out that one needs for the players to be able to look up spells, equipment, and so forth during a game. She was a bit dubious, but accepted it. My compliments to the postal services involved in the shipping - I wasn't expecting it before the New Year. * (I got a trifle delayed in posting this - about 36 hours, I'd estimate.)

I got my email a few days ago. It didn't make it for the new year, but your message makes me hopeful it will arrive before the new year...

Odder, I was in the fortunate position of having a substantial amount of cash available to spend on the Kickstarter. Shortly after that, my financial situation changed, such that I would not have been able to justify spending that amount, so I was lucky that I was able to get what I did. I have considerable sympathy for those who were not able to back it. Had I the resources, I would have tried to get one of the retailer packages (10 copies of the softcover) to give away to people here and at Trollhalla who couldn't afford copies at the time. As it is, one of the softbacks was intended as a gift, for someone who has since disappeared into a Hidey Hole (or something like that). I may have to find another home for it - or a bigger bookshelf...

I have my hardback! It arrived today! I am very excited! I cannot stop using exclamation marks!!!!*?<>!! Looks beautiful, and I know I will read it closer than I have the PDF - I just need that tactile heft to imbibe rules properly. As I just said to my wife, my birthday present for 2013 has arrived Will post more in due course.

I thought I heard a woop of unadulterated joy from your hemisphere, zanshin. Sounds like you're ready for a ruckus. Just remember: Give thy secrets No utterance; let fools their folly reap. … For this ubiquitous underworld Proclaims thy wit, humor, and imagination to the world.

Lovely quote, for which I do not have the provenance. Enlighten me! As I digest the book I will no doubt share my thoughts. So far one of the best rpg rulebook reads for a while. I definitely dig the Ken/Liz style. The Magical Guild mottos/descriptions/subheadings are an early win for me.

Lovely quote, for which I do not have the provenance. Enlighten me! The 1975 1st edition rules conclude with an epic 30-line verse attributed to Polonius St. Andre titled "Advice for Dungeon Masters". It's an excellent manifesto of the old-school spirit, though in many ways distinct from what people commonly call old-school in OSR conversations.

Gigantic box delivered to wrong (old) address, despite my updating it, looks suspiciously like it might be my T&T stuff. Sitting next to it on the tram right now after collecting it, and it practically takes up its own seat
