"'I will take the ring (box), though I do not know the way.'", quotes Malutassial. "Since we are lacking hobbits in our little group..."
OOC: I'm happy to just stow it in my pack unopened for the moment, unless anyone wants to investigate the contents.

Khloemar responds to Malutassial, "I think someone should open it. If no one else will I am prepared to do it. I think we need all the help we can get and although there is risk, "nothing ventured, nothing gained". What say you, good sir?"

When Runkild touches the doorknob, a rumbling noise overhead alerts him to trouble. He shoots a quick glance upward, and sees the ceiling above the door open up, large rocks teeter, then fall out of the aperture. By sheer reflex, he springs backward, hurling himself out of the way of the tumbling rocks an instant before they crash on top of him. The trap sprung, the threat gone, what lies beyond the door is ... a brick wall, flush against the frame of the doorway. L2SR-DEX successful=16 adventure points.
As Runkild picks himself up and dusts himself off, Winip procures a bone from the skeleton in the room. Bending down he attempts to shovel some of the gooey poison from the floor into his now empty water bottle (provisions - 1/2). Should any of it splash, fall, drip on him he's in store for a most painful moment in his life at least, death at worst... SR: 2d6 6...but the transfer goes without mishap. You get about one-third of the container filled before the task becomes too tedious to bear any longer. L2SR-DEX successful=12 adventure points

I merely wished to avoid us getting sidetracked away from our ostensible mission. Let us see what lies within." Malutassial retrieves the box from his pack (assuming that he had got so far as to put it in there) and will open it if Khloemar does not want to claim priority.

Runkild dusts himself negligently while looking at the rubble in front of him. "So this is this kind of dungeon, isn't it?" he says, as if unimpressed. He will check if the door can still be opened -- and if it is a real door after all.

Random seconds Khloemar's wish to investigate the ring box. "Rochin here says we must gather clues, information to get to the second level, like a set of numbers for a combination lock on a secret door that leads down to the next level---what his group had to do when they were here. I daresay this ring box may hold one such valuable clue."
As Runkild reveals the false room beyond the door in the southern wall, Random eyes the only thing left un-inspected in this room: the door in the northern wall. Feeling it, too, could be a trigger trap, he unsheathes his dagger, and making sure no one is close to it, flings his dagger into the door.

Khloemar and Random encourage Mal to open the ring box. When he does, it's not a ring they find within, but rather a shard of silver, resembling a broken-off piece of coin. Engraved on the silver "piece" are the words: One of Four. The mages can easily determine the piece pulses with magical energy.
Runkild turns his attention to the trapped door. It's open, and as previously discovered, there's a wall of bricks firmly in place in the doorway. As Random stated, it is, indeed, a false room.
As these events transpire, Random flings a poniard at the closed door on the other side of the room. When the dagger makes contact, the ceiling above opens and out comes another batch of large rocks, cascading down on the space in front of the door. When the fall of rocks and dust dies down, opening the door reveals another brick wall firmly in place in the doorway.

Khloemar will try Omnipotent Eye (unless Malutassial wants to).

Runkild acknowledges the two false rooms, and the discovered coins. Answering Zagnar, he says: "Right, let's move on!" Then he progresses to the archway.
