I've checked their website, but cannot find anything on the subject. It's quite popular among the fans of the game, I'm surprised they re-released 4 and 1 as pdf, but not 5.
Even if it's just a pdf, I could print and bind my own.
Does anyone have any news about this?

The only news is still no news. Rick Loomis has said that FBI does intend to re-release 5.5 in pdf at some point, but it needs to be scanned and OCRed first. dT&T is currently occupying the T&T energy. I don't believe there are plans to reprint 5.5 in paper.

Definitely a shame. I'm glad I have my 5.5 boxed set, even as I'm about to run a dT&T game. Even when I was running entirely different games, I would re-read my 5th ed rule book with much profit in inspiration.
Anyway, I think I have a spare 5th edition (not 5.5) book laying around here somewhere, if you're in need of it.

I don't believe there are plans to reprint 5.5 in paper. How sad. I wouldn't even need an indexed and OCR'd copy. I'd be happy with a plain, legible pdf without any frills. edit and add: Wouldn't it be simple enough for them to upload the pdf to Lulu and let it be print on demand? In that way you could buy pdfs or printed books, and they'll keep making money.

As much as I love FBI and have found Rick Loomis to be a very nice guy, I have to say that their decisions aren't always the thing that makes the most sense in any given situation.
It wouldn't be hard at all to get a good PDF up, and it would make perfect sense to put it on Lulu. Heck, I'm sure that there would even be plenty of volunteers from this very board to do most of the work for them (maybe for a free copy or something, if FBI were inclined to compensate them). In any case, 5.5 should be made available sooner rather than later. Unlike some other games, each edition is NOT a definitive improvement over its predecessors, but many of them offer something different and useful.

I use the missile table from the free version of Deluxe. And if I can find the interest, I'd like to run a DCC style funnel with the Citizen from 7 but otherwise use 5.5.

I did that very thing with my last T&T game! I was using 7.5 at the time and had everyone start as a Citizen with a Talent based on their profession (thus making it less random than in DCC, but every bit as "underpowered"). It went famously well, and served as a good way to introduce the players to T&T's distinctive mechanics. (I have since also run my first DCC game, too.)

Disclaimer: This is not intended to throw fuel on the fire or question any business decision made by Rick......
They have a clean PDF of the 5th Edition. If you search on this forum you'll see it was quietly talked about more then once. Just saying this so no one decides to rip up a book a scan it in hopes of making this happen. A book was ripped up long ago and a very very clean PDF exists. That's all I can say about it. (I also provided the 4th Edition just so you know where it came from)

To almost quote W. C. Fields, "Does it have to be legal?"

A legal PDF is out, it is well OCR'd, but it's 5.0 with the beige cover.
