Random accepts Winip's scabbard and places his terbutje in it. "I'll take good care of it." Hearing Khloemar and Zagnar's warning he falls back, and after a quick look for traps on the western door, he opens it.
Random discovers no traps on the door, opens it, and the party is immediately drawn into a room lit by rows and rows of candles aligned against the northern, southern, and western walls. In the middle of the room is a large, stand-up mirror and behind the rows of candles along the western wall, is a door. A small table sits in the corner between the candles along the southern and western walls. On the table is a spirit board and planchette.
It's then you hear them. Voices. Whispering voices that slowly grow in volume. They all offer advice: "Go through the door." "Blow out the candles." "Pass through the mirror." "Use the spirit board."
This they say over and over with increasing rapidity, volume, and intensity, until the voices are snarling with anger.

"Aw, the voices are driving me crazy," Random says, putting his hands over his ears. "I think it's important we do something, but do it quickly." He looks over at Khloemar and Mal. "C'mon, wizards, think of something. Something besides Detect Magic. Assume it's all magical."

"Ah, of course." Random makes himself useful by checking on the door in the western wall. "My poniard has been scorched to death and rendered useless in such previous endeavors, so the best I can do is give it a visual inspection, unless someone---Rochin---lend a weapon to the effort that I can jettison into yonder door."
The wizards cast Detect Magic on the various items in the room, but only the mirror glows with the mystical light of enchantment. Khloemar follows-up by casting Omnipotent Eye on the mirror, discovering two spells have been worked into its very fabric. One spell alters the physical structure of the mirror, allowing one to step into it as if it were a doorway. The second spell is the teleport spell Blow You To... The wizards further determine if one stands close to the mirror, within a few inches perhaps, they will be pulled through its magical doorway.
Random checks over the door in the opposite wall and sees nothing untoward. He asks Rochin to assist, to test the door to see if it bursts into flames. This Rochin does, but the door explodes not.
Malutassial looks into the mirror, but a smoky gray, whirling mass of clouds is all that he sees in its silvery surface.
Random opens the door, and a long hallway stretches west into darkness. Nothing else can be seen from his current position a couple of steps back from the doorway.
It's here the voices become so loud and the words of the messages spoken so rapidly it's like one long, continuous word is being spoken. It not only makes communication with one another difficult, but it also begins to cause physical pain.
You sense a definitive action must be taken soon, or the voices will not only cause physical harm, but perhaps, something far worse.
