Dandelion needs to pick one. It would definitely be a plus if I could meet some Elite at whichever I go to. I found Origins to be friendlier as a whole than GenCon, although that may just be my own bias. I had a migraine for most of GenCon. Also, I met Ken at Origins and played T&T for the very first time there. Do any North American trolls have plans to attend either one? Or trolls from other parts... if you're going to travel all the way to the US to be at a gaming convention, it'd be worth my while to meet you too.

Bummer.
Florida is on our list of places we might go this summer, but it's pretty far down on that list. That kind of trip will probably stretch our budget too much, and, well, there's the whole matter of Florida in summer. (And of course February isn't a good alternative when your husband's a teacher.)
Bummer-de-bummer.

I am going to make a serious attempt to get to ORIGINS this year. Columbus, OH is too close to home to not go.

I will be going to both this year (went to both last year). I hope to play some T&T while I'm there. I live about 3 hours from Origins and 5 hours from Gencon so it's not too far of a stretch to make both. They are always fun. Origins seems more spread out and less claustrophobic in the exibition hall in my opinion. It seems like its a little slower pace so you can stop and talk to people a little more leisurely but Gencon is the BIG one with all the bling bling. Both are good though.

Origins also seemed a lot better for someone who only buys a guest pass. Which is what I did. I went around hoping people would say, "Hey, you're cute, come play in our game!" It's not technically against the rules to let a guest play in a sanctioned game if she's cute, I guess. At least, not at Origins.
And hey, between Ironfang, Donderkis, and myself, we have most of a T&T game right here! If I can talk my Ogre-mate into joining us, and/or if either of you have SOs or friends who might want to play, there we go.

I have never been to either con, being a Left Coast troll myself. If I do get the free time, I go to KublaCon.

Xlorp - GenConSoCal or DragonCon would be well worth the effort to get to - both are out there in Granola-Land!

I volunteered to work at Origins. They haven't written me back yet, but it sounds like any offer to help is an offer they won't refuse. So that was probably a commitment to be there.
I'll tell you more as I find out.
