[ModHatOn] Conduct unbecoming a member of the Trollbridge, Aramis. I understand that, ultimately, you are looking for a cannon reference of the map's scale for your own game. There is nothing wrong with this. Your original question was simply, "How big is it?" All of the responses in this thread have offered their best working theories, including Mormonyoyoman. This is a public board and any thread is open to any member in good standing. Just because the response doesn't fit your desired framework doesn't mean it's without merit. The many worlds/planes/dimensions aspect is an accepted reality of Trollworld. Mormonyoyoman's suggestion fits right in line with this reality. Language such as you have used in your first and last sentences is unacceptable. It violates the very purpose of the Trollbridge which is to serve as a place for the community of fans of T&T to share their thoughts and experiences of the game. If the answers provided here don't meet your needs, I would suggest contacting someone who actually worked on the map. This thread will remain open to all members in good standing for continued civil discourse. [ModHatOff]

[BowlerHatOfModeratorness donned] Without going into detail, I fully support Prof's statement above. I'd also like to thank all of the people who have given responses; I, for one, have found them interesting to read, and appreciate the efforts that everyone puts in to adding to the T & T universe. Aramis, the initial question is a good one, and not something that I had ever given much thought to. If you do contact Steve or some other member of the Fellowship of the Troll, and can get some information from them, I look forward to hearing about it. [DunceCapOfNormality replaces BowlerHatOfModeratorness on pointy head] So, assuming that we eventually get at least a rough size estimate, does anyone want to take a stab at calculating the continent's MR?

And the both of you, with your moderator hats on, have just shown the lack of utility of this board.
Sorry gents, but it as pretty damned clear I was looking for canonical references from the first bit. I was hoping people had canonical distance references from adventures... because I don't have access to many. And the ones I have in dead tree are not in a useful space.... being 1500 miles from me.
Making excuses for the lack is non-constructive. Chastizing me for wanting canonical references is a waste of both our times, and of disk space. It's also potentially offputting for those who want similar answers - what you're saying is essentially, "The trollbridge is no place for actually getting answers, but for being given nought but irrelevant opinions."

It seems to me what they were saying is"The Trollbridge is no place for people who ask a question and then when others try to help them figure that question out or give a opinion that perhaps that question in unanswerable with any certainty, are rude and dismissive to those people.
Also I have never ever found anyplace on the Internet where people get very far pointing fingers and chastising Moderator's for a warning. Have you found your tactics to be very rewarding in the past?
I do have a question that concerns your topic though. Has it said anywhere that Trollworld is round? If so I had a misconception about its shape. Perhaps I need to go reread the book!

You are quite right, Lichbeard, that is exactly what is being said. Thank you for understanding.
Since this thread has now become unproductive, I'm locking it. Aramis, I'm sorry to hear that you have such disdain for the wonderful community of Trolls we have here at the Trollbridge. It is my hope that at some point you'll come to understand that it doesn't matter what arena you play in throughout life it's the connections you have with the people around you that matter. Those connections and how we work at building those relationships will make or break you.
You are now being provided an opportunity, Aramis. You won't be able to login over the next week. Take that opportunity to either come to an understanding that the rude and dismissive behavior you have practiced here is not welcome and change it before you post here again or take your ball and go find a playground more suitable to your attitudes.
